This article will show you how you can restore access to your Facebook account if it has been hacked. The easiest way to do this is to change your password. If you can't change your password, tell Facebook that your account has been hacked.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Reset your password on a mobile device

  1. 1 Start Facebook. The icon for this app is dark blue with a white "f". If your account has been hacked, you will be taken to the login page.
  2. 2 Tap the link Help is needed? below the email and password fields. A menu will appear on the screen.
    • Skip this step if instead of the "Need help?" on the page there is a link "Forgot your password?"
  3. 3 Tap option Forgot your password?. After that, you will find yourself on the password reset page.
  4. 4 Enter your email address or phone number. Click on the text box at the top of the page and enter the email or phone number you used to sign in to Facebook.
    • If you've never added a phone number, only enter your email address.
  5. 5 Click on the blue button Search next to the text box. This should display your account.
  6. 6 Select your account recovery method. Click on one of the account recovery options at the top of the page:
    • Confirm by email - Facebook will send the reset code to the email address associated with your account.
    • Confirm by SMS - Facebook will send a text message with a code to the linked phone number.
  7. 7 Tap Proceed. It's a dark blue button under the account recovery options. Facebook will then send you the code by email or SMS.
  8. 8 Find the code. Depending on the method you choose, follow these steps:
    • By email - open your inbox, find the email from Facebook and remember the six-digit code in the subject line.
    • By SMS - open incoming messages on your phone, look for a new message from a five or six-digit phone number and look for a six-digit code in it.
  9. 9 Enter a code. Click on the "Enter your 6-digit code" field and enter the code received by email or SMS.
    • There should be no more than a few minutes between receiving the code and entering it, otherwise it will become invalid.
    • If necessary, click on the "Resend code" link to receive a different code.
  10. 10 Tap the button Proceed below the text box to submit the code and navigate to another page.
  11. 11 Turn on the option "Sign out of account on other devices" and click "Continue". This will log you out of Facebook on the computer, tablet, and phone connected to your account. The cracker will also log out of the system (thanks to you).
  12. 12 Enter a new password. The new password must be entered in the text box at the top of the page.
  13. 13 Click on Proceed. After that, the old password will be replaced by the new one. Now you can log into Facebook with a new password, and the person who hacked your account will no longer be able to log into it.

    • Confirm by SMS - Facebook will send a text message with a code to the linked phone number.
    • Login with Google - this option allows you to log into your Google account to verify your identity. In this case, you do not have to go through the password reset procedure.
  6. 6 Click on Proceed. The code will be sent to your email address or phone number. If you choose the option "Sign in with Google", a window will appear on the screen.
  7. 7 Find the code. Depending on the method you choose, follow these steps:
    • By email - open your inbox, find the email from Facebook and remember the six-digit code in the subject line.

  10. 10 Click on Proceedto save your new password.

    • If there is no such option, skip this step.
  14. 14 Edit the information you didn't change. Facebook will display several posts, settings and other changes that have recently appeared. Confirm these changes if you made them, or cancel or delete them if someone else did.
    • If you are asked to change the posts you have created, click on the "Skip" button at the bottom of the page.
  15. 15 Press Go to the chronicle. After that, you will find yourself in your News Feed. You now have full account access again.

Tips

  • There is no surefire way to protect yourself from Facebook hacking. However, if you constantly update your password and do not open links from unfamiliar users, then significantly reduce the likelihood of hacking.

Warnings
