eWallet is a service offered by the First National Bank (FNB) in South Africa that allows bank customers to send money to people who do not have an active South African mobile number. Funds can be withdrawn directly from FNB ATMs or when shopping at select retail stores.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Withdrawing money from FNB ATMs

  1. 1 Go to any FNB ATM.
    • If necessary, visit https://www.fnb.co.za/locators/atm-locator.html to find out where the nearest FNB ATMs are.
  2. 2 Dial the following number from your mobile phone to access the eWallet: *120*277#
  3. 3 Select the "Withdraw cash" option, then select "Get a PIN." eWallet will send you a text message containing a unique four-digit PIN. The PIN will expire within 30 minutes after receiving the text message.
    • If you receive a PIN along with a text message informing you that you have received money on the eWallet, this special PIN will expire after four hours.
  4. 4 Press the "Enter" button on the ATM keyboard or select "Services without a card.
  5. 5 Select the option "eWallet Services.
  6. 6 Enter your mobile number and then select "Continue."
  7. 7 Enter the four-digit eWallet PIN that you received in the text message.
  8. 8 Enter the amount of money you want to withdraw from the ATM. The ATM will give you money accordingly, and you will be charged an ATM fee of six rand.
  9. 9 Make sure the transaction is complete before leaving the ATM, or click Cancel.

  1. 1 Visit any of the following stores located in South Africa throughout the Eastern Cape of Limpopo and Gauteng:

    • Lighthouse SPAR
    • Lighthouse TOPS
    • Limpopo SPAR
    • Limpopo TOPS
    • Randgate spar

  2. 2 Make a purchase with a credit or debit card and select the option to withdraw cash when using a payment system.
  3. 3 Select the option to withdraw funds from eWallet and enter your mobile number in the command line.
  4. 4 Enter the amount of funds you want to withdraw from the eWallet. When withdrawing funds in retail stores, the commission is not charged. The cashier will give you the specified amount, which will be debited from your eWallet balance.
