Method 1 of 3: Understand the basic principles

Method 2 of 3: Prepare to hack

   PSP update. To start hacking, you need to make sure that your PSP is updated to version 6.60. You can use the system update feature, or download files directly from the Sony site.
   • If you download the update file from the Sony website, please copy it to your PSP by connecting your PSP to your computer. Copy the file to PSP / GAME / UPDATE / folder and run the update file from PSP.
   • To copy files to your PSP, you'll need to convert your PSP to USB mode. After connecting your PSP to your computer, scroll left until you see the settings menu, then scroll up to choose USB mode. Soon, your PSP will be able to be accessed as a storage device from your computer.

   Download custom firmware. You will need PRO-C, which can be found in many places on the Internet. While using USB mode, unzip the file and copy the firmware to the PSP / GAME / folder on your PSP. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Install firmware

1. 

   Install the copied firmware file. Scroll to the Game menu. Look for the "PRO Update" icon and select it with the X button. The screen will turn black and some options will be displayed. Press X to install the firmware. After a few moments, you will see the line Completed (completed). Press X one more time to run the firmware.

   Use IPL. For PSP 1XXX and 2XXX, you need to run “CIPL Flasher” located in Game menu. This changes the IPL (Initial Program Loader), which sets the custom firmware to run at system boot.

   Run Fast Recovery. For PSP 3XXX and PSP Go, you need to run Fast Recovery after each boot because IPL cannot be used on those systems. Running Fast Recovery allows you to download custom firmware after booting.

4. 

   Delete the installation files. After using the IPL, your PSP is hacked and ready to use.You can delete CIPL Flasher and PRO Update files. Remember to keep Fast Recovery if you are using 3XXX or PSP Go. advertisement
