Signing out of the iTunes Store will prevent other users from making purchases with your personal Apple ID. You can sign out of iTunes using your computer, or using your iOS device.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Exiting iTunes from the Library Screen

1. 1 Hover over an open iTunes session.
2. 2 Click on “Store” in the menu bar of your iTunes session.
3. 3 Select “Sign Out.” You will no longer be logged into iTunes with your Apple ID.

Method 2 of 3: Sign Out of iTunes via the iTunes Store

1. 1 Hover over the current iTunes session on your computer.
2. 2 Click on “iTunes Store” located in the upper right corner of your iTunes session.
3. 3 Click on “Sign Out” in the upper left corner of iTunes. Now your Apple ID will not be authorized in iTunes.

Method 3 of 3: Sign Out of iTunes on an iOS Device

1. 1 Tap the “Settings” icon on your iOS device.
2. 2 Tap “iTunes and App Stores.”
3. 3 Tap the Apple ID that is currently authorized in iTunes.
4. 4 Tap “Sign Out.” Now you will not be logged into iTunes.

Tips

• If you're signed in to iTunes from a public computer, such as a library or workplace, sign out at the end of your session to prevent others from shopping with your Apple ID.
