1 Prepare materials. For dangling bead earrings you will need: two studs, round-nose pliers, two earring hooks and beads (mother-of-pearl, plastic, glass - of your choice).

2 String a few beads onto the hairpin. How much depends on the size of the beads and the desired length of your earrings. Experiment with different bead colors and sizes and combinations to find the one you like.

3 Cut the hairpin to the desired size. To shorten the earrings, bite off the end of the stud with round nose pliers. Just don't cut too close to the beads: there should be about a centimeter between the last bead and the end of the wire.

4 Bend the top end of the stud. Using round nose pliers, bend the left 1⁄2-inch end of the stud into a closed loop.

5 Attach the earring hook. Take the hook for the earring and use the round nose pliers to open the loop that will be attached to the earring. Thread it through the loop you made at the end of the hairpin.

6 Clasp the eyelet on the hook. Close the open loop again using round nose pliers. Fasten it neatly and securely so that the earring does not fall off.

7 Repeat the process with the second pin. Your earrings are ready!

Method 2 of 4: Hoop Earrings

1 Prepare materials. To make hoop earrings, you will need: wire with memory effect, wire cutters (pliers or round nose pliers will leave marks on it), round nose pliers, two earring hooks and, if desired, beads.
2 Cut one full turn of memory wire. This will be the ring. If you want to make hoop earrings with a smaller diameter, cut a piece to the desired length with wire cutters.
3 Bend one end of the wire ring. Bend the wire down with round nose pliers to form a closed loop at the end.
4 String the beads. If you want to make hoop earrings from beads, string the desired amount onto the wire. Experiment with different colors and sizes of beads to find a combination that you like. If you want to make simple metal hoop earrings, skip this step.
5 Bend the other end of the wire ring. Bend the other end of the wire with round nose pliers, but bend it up, not down. Make an almost closed loop.
6 Insert the eyelets one into the other. Slide the loop that is folded up into the loop that is folded down. If necessary, clamp each loop with round nose pliers to securely hold the earring in place.
7 Attach the earring hook. Take the hook for the earring and use the round nose pliers to open the loop that will be attached to the earring. Thread the open loop through one of the closed loops at the top of the ring. Close the loop again with the round nose pliers.
8 Repeat the process for the second earring. Remember to compare the second ring with the first to make sure the earrings are the same size.
