Content

In addition to viewing stories posted by your friends on Snapchat, there are two other places to view public stories. The first, Snapchat Discover, is a curated collection of news and entertainment posts from media companies. The second is Snapchat Live, which features news, entertainment, and event snapshots submitted by fellow Snapchat users. The Discover and Live sections can be found on the Stories page in the Snapchat app.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Snapchat Discover

  1. 1 Launch the Snapchat app.
  2. 2 Swipe left to go to the Stories page.
  3. 3 Click on the ball icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Here you will see the badges and captions for various recommended Snapchat stories. That's Snapchat Discover - an exclusive list of public Snapchat stories from TV networks, celebrities, entertainment blogs and more.
  4. 4 Click on the story to watch the video.
    • If there is Read Read or Explore Learn more at the bottom of the story, click on it to view more information.
    • As with other stories, to manage stories in the Discover section, click once to skip a snapshot.
    • Scroll down to close the story.

Method 2 of 2: Snapchat Live

  1. 1 Launch the Snapchat app. Public Stories can be viewed in the Snapchat Live section. These stories are provided by Snapchat itself.
    • The content available depends on your location.
  2. 2 Swipe left to go to the Stories page.
  3. 3 Open the "Live" section. To do this, first scroll through the latest updates of your friends.Live stories will be posted under the heading "Live".
  4. 4 Click on the story. The story will start displaying the different snapshots in order.
    • As with other stories, to manage stories in the Live section, click once to skip a snapshot.
    • Scroll down to close the story.

Tips

  • There is currently no way to view a specific user's public stories without first subscribing to them.
  • To provide a snapshot of an event on Snapchat Live, take a snapshot and click the Submit button. But instead of choosing "My story", select from the list the history of the event (for example, the story about the holiday on May 9).
