If you're too shy about asking someone out in person, an email can be a way to get his or her attention.
Steps
1 Spend some quality time with your potential mile girl boyfriend and his or her friends. Ask if he or she has an email address or an account on a popular social network such as Facebook or MySpace.
2 Start with a simple greeting or start the conversation with something else. If necessary, remind him or her where he or she knows you from (what lessons do you go to together, etc.)
3 Add him or her as a friend if your site has this feature.
4 Learn more about the interests of the second person.
5 If you find out that you have a lot in common, ask him or her out on a date. Try this strategy: "You could hear that I like you. Would you like to go out on a date?"
6 Give him or her more than a few minutes to respond. Wait a few hours before checking your email or website, or the wait will seem endless.
Note
Online dating is a great idea for shy people. It works even better if the person you like is also shy, or if you don't mind not seeing their reaction.
Tips
- Be prepared to give up, just in case things don't go the way you planned.
- Remember that people behave online differently than they do in person. Some people may "definitely like" you on MySpace, but they will ignore you in the hallway!
- From a guy's point of view: If you don't know the person in real life and you can chat with him live, try inviting him in person. The person will feel special. It takes a lot of self-confidence to do this, but it's worth it.
- Always be yourself. If you are not a cheerful person, do not try to become one; if you are a class clown, being serious may not be in your nature.
- First, identify your common interests.
Warnings
- Be extremely careful when sharing personal information online. It is not difficult to create a false identity. Provide your full name, address and telephone number with extreme care, especially if you don't know the person in real life.
- Also, if you know this person, it's always best to ask him out on a date in real life. That way he will know that you are serious and you will not seem desperate.
- This dating method can leave a paper trail that may or may not follow, so proceed with caution.
- Remember that this can also be dangerous - many pretend to be older / younger than they really are. You can also find a lot of lies online ...
- It is always best to express everything in person, if possible.
