Steps

1. 1 Learn more about Beltane. Basically, Beltane is a celebration of the union of God and Goddess. It covers things like sex, love, passion, impregnation, and romance.
2. 2 Don't forget about the significance of specific things like fire and flowers. Fire represents love and passion, so light the candles. Flowers contain pollen to fertilize plants, so many Wiccans like to weave flowers into their hair, wear flower wreaths, use them in recipes or as decorations.
3. 3 Light a fire with 9 sacred trees: rowan or sandalwood, apple tree, dogwood, poplar, juniper, cedar, holly and oak or elderberry. Invite friends, play music, roast nuts in the fire, or, if desired, perform a ceremony.
4. 4 If you can't get your hands on real trees, burn incense with their scent to add aroma to an open fire. Some Wiccans think this is a great time to relax and meditate.
5. 5 Eat oat cakes or barley cakes. They are a traditional Celtic treat for Beltane celebrations. Other treats include lavender lemonade, cinnamon rolls, yellow tea, anything with a rose flavor, and anything with aphrodisiac properties.
6. 6 Complete the rite of union between God and the Goddess. It can be simple and symbolic or more dramatic, it all depends on your wishes.
7. 7 Dance by the maypole or recreate other Wiccan dances for a sense of celebration.
8. 8 Keep in mind that Beltane is often viewed as the time when the "veil" between the realms of the living and the realms of spirits becomes thinnest. Take advantage of this and honor the memory of departed ancestors. This time can also be used for conducting spiritualistic seances.
