Learning how to use an eyebrow pencil can help you shape your eyebrows the way you want, whether they are too light to stand out, are naturally thin, have too much plucking, or just need to stand out a bit more. Method 1 of 3: Finding your perfect eyebrow shape

1. Use your face shape to determine a good eyebrow shape for your facial features.
   • If you have a round face, a sharp, high arch can open your eyes and lengthen and balance your face.
   • With an oval face you can actually have all eyebrow shapes. If your face is very long, try pulling your eyebrows a little further, and don't over-color them or over-color them.
   • A heart-shaped face can be a challenge - too much curved or too sharp an angle puts emphasis on your forehead. Try to create a lower, straighter arch that follows your brow bone.
   • If you have a square face, full, dark brows will balance your rectangular jawline.

Test different shades on the back of your hand to see if the shade has warm or cool undertones. If you have red or reddish hair, warm (red and orange) shades will suit you. Other hair colors are better off choosing cooler undertones (blue, gray and pink).
   • Blondes should try light taupe or a pencil one or two shades darker than their natural hair color.
   • Brunettes should choose a color pencil that is one or two shades lighter than their hair color. Do not try black or other shades darker than your own hair, unless you like angry, angry-looking eyebrows.
   • Even people with pitch black hair shouldn't use a black pencil. Rather try dark brown or taupe.
   • Redheads should try taupe and medium brown.
   • Girls with gray hair opt for light brown or taupe, instead of another shade of gray.
