Bluetooth headsets are very popular with modern and mobile people. By connecting a Bluetooth headset to your phone, you can make and receive calls without having to hold the device in your hand, which is very convenient when driving, shopping or just jogging. If your phone has a Bluetooth module, connect it to a Bluetooth headset to make it easier to use the device.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Preparing a Bluetooth Headset

1. 1 Charge your headset. You should charge both the phone and the headset to prevent battery drain from interrupting the pairing process.
2. 2 Put the headset into pairing mode. This procedure is similar for most headsets, but there may be slight differences depending on the model and manufacturer of the headset.
   • In most cases, turn on the headset and then hold down the multifunction button for a few seconds (that is, the button you press to answer a call). First, the LED will blink, signaling that the headset is on (do not release the button!), And after a few seconds, the LED will blink in different colors (usually red and blue, but there are other colors as well). A flashing LED means the headset is in pairing mode.
   • If your headset has an On / Off switch, slide it to the On position before pressing and holding the multifunction button.
3. 3 Place the headset close to the phone. Both devices must be close to each other to pair. For best results, the distance between devices should not exceed 1.5 m.

Part 2 of 2: Preparing your phone

1. 1 Charge your phone. Turning on the Bluetooth module will drain your phone's battery faster, so charge it.
2. 2 Turn on Bluetooth on your phone. If your phone is after 2007, it is likely that your device supports Bluetooth. If in any mobile operating system you see the option / menu "Bluetooth", then your phone is equipped with a Bluetooth module.
   • On iPhone, click the Settings icon and then look for the Bluetooth option. If you succeed, your phone supports Bluetooth. If Off is displayed next to an option, click the option to activate Bluetooth.
   • On Android, open the Settings app and then find the Bluetooth menu. If you succeed, your phone supports Bluetooth. Open the Bluetooth menu by clicking on it and move the slider to the On position.
   • In Windows Mobile, open the application list, click Settings and look for the Bluetooth menu. If you succeed, your phone supports Bluetooth. Open the Bluetooth menu and activate Bluetooth.
   • If you are using a Bluetooth enabled phone (not a smartphone), open the device settings menu, find the “Bluetooth” menu, and activate Bluetooth.
3. 3 Search for Bluetooth devices from your phone. By activating Bluetooth on your phone, it will (automatically) search for Bluetooth devices to connect to. When the search is complete, a list of Bluetooth devices ready for pairing is displayed on the screen.
   • For regular mobile phones (not smartphones) and older Android smartphones, you may need to manually search for Bluetooth devices. If there is a Search for Devices option (or similar) in the Bluetooth menu, click it to start searching for Bluetooth devices.
   • If your Bluetooth headset is turned on, but the phone does not find it, then the headset is not in pairing mode. In this case, restart the headset and re-enable pairing mode. Read your headset user manual to find out how to get into pairing mode.
4. 4 Select a headset to pair with. In the list of found and available for connection Bluetooth devices, click on the name of your headset. It may appear under the manufacturer's name (such as Jabra or Plantronics) or under the word “Headset”.
5. 5 Enter your PIN if required. When the headset is found, the phone may ask for a PIN. After entering the code, press "Pairing".
   • The PIN code for connecting most headsets is 0000 or 1234 or 9999 or 0001. If none of the above codes worked, enter the last four digits of your headset serial number (this number can be found under the battery; it is labeled “s / n "Or" serial number ").
   • If the phone is connected to the headset without entering a code, then this means that the code is not required at all.
6. 6 Click Pair. After the headset is connected to the phone, the message “Connected” (or similar depending on the phone model) will be displayed on the screen.
7. 7 Make a phone call using the headset. The headset is connected to the phone and its functionality depends on the phone software. By inserting the headset into your ear, you can make and receive phone calls without touching the phone.

• While a Bluetooth headset helps drivers stay focused on driving, the actual conversation on the phone is an important factor in reducing attention. The safest way to drive a car is to have no distractions at all.
