Tired of plucking your eyebrows with tweezers or do you no longer feel like damaging the delicate skin around your eyes with wax? The alternative is epilation with yarn, a very old way to remove your eyebrow hairs. This method requires little practice and all you need is a piece of yarn!

To step

1. Collect everything mentioned in the "supplies" list at the bottom of this description. All you really need is a piece of yarn, but you may want to draw the shape of your eyebrows first with an eyebrow pencil, or numb your skin with an ice cube.
2. Hold the knot in one hand and take the opposite part in your other hand.
3. Hold your hands with the palm away from you at the level of your eyebrow.
4. Place the triangle formed by the wire so that the hair you want to pull out is between the wires. You epilate against the direction of your hair growth, so move the tip of the triangle against the direction of growth.
5. Keep practicing. Very little practice is required to do this properly.

Tips

• You can also use this epilation method for the hairs on your upper lip. Just make sure you pull the skin tight by pulling your lip into your mouth.
• Watch what you are doing, if you don't pay attention you can ruin the shape of your eyebrow.
• You can also use this technique to pluck someone else's eyebrows. Make sure they stretch the skin around their eyebrows with their fingers so you don't accidentally break their skin (ouch).

Warnings

• With this method of epilation you can easily pull out whole strands at the same time. Be careful not to accidentally cut a whole section of your eyebrow.
• Make sure you only pull out your hair. Taking your skin unintentionally can be very painful.

Necessities

• About 35cm of yarn
• Something to indicate the outline of your desired eyebrow shape, such as powder or an eyebrow pencil (optional)
• (Eyebrow) gel (optional)
• Ice (optional)
