In this article, you will learn about an incomprehensible, but still effective way to keep flies and mosquitoes away from certain things. This method has been seen in Brazil, and with it, the place where your dog eats will be completely protected from various insects.

Steps

1. 1 Get a small clear sandwich bag or zip-lock bag. The bag should be transparent and small. Shopping bags will not work.
2. 2 Fill the bag one-third full of tap water.
3. 3 You can put a few coins in the bag if you like. While not necessary, it looks like having a few coins inside the bag keeps flies away.
4. 4 Tie the bag with a ribbon. Leave a long piece of tape to hang the bag over.
5. 5 Hang the bag from the rafters or from the windowsill, tying it to the tape made in advance. Hang it near your dog's feeding area.
   • Make sure that there is free space around the bag (the bag should not be too close to the wall).
   • The bag should be hung higher than any member of your family. This is done not only so that no one hits the bag with their head, but also because the flies fly in a spiral upward. Therefore, if the bag is high enough, the flies will be far away from people.
6. 6 Push the bag occasionally to get the flies to move. This will help create a reflective movement that seems to annoy the flies.

Tips

• Another way is to place a bag of garlic cloves next to the dog's feeding area (but in a place where the dog himself will not be able to see it). Flies don't like the smell of garlic.
