The current generation of game consoles is at its peak in the history of their existence. With the popularization of online games and the emergence of the ability to connect the game console to the Internet, many new privileges have become available to users. One of them is to regularly update the system software of your Sony box. These updates improve the quality of the set-top box and allow you to always have up-to-date software.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Update via PS4 Console
1 Turn on your PS4. To do this, press the "On" button on the console panel or the "PlayStation" button on the joystick (the small round button in the middle). 
2 On the function screen, select "Settings". Select the toolbox-shaped icon from the list of icons. 
3 Select the "System Software Update" function. The system will check for the latest software version. If you do not have the latest version installed, the system will download it from the Internet. 
4 Install the latest update. When the download is complete, a notification will appear in the upper left corner of the screen. On the functions screen, select "Notifications", then go to "Downloads". Run the software update file and simply follow the on-screen instructions to begin installation.
Method 2 of 2: Installing via USB
1 Prepare a USB flash drive. Using a personal computer, create folders on the USB flash drive to save the update file. Go to the root folder of the flash drive by double-clicking the left mouse button, then create a new folder and name it "PS4". - Inside the "PS4" folder, create an "UPDATE" folder.
2 Download the update file. Save the file to the "UPDATE" folder under the name "PS4UPDATE.PUP". 
3 Power off the PS4 completely. Make sure the power indicator light is off. If it is lit orange, press and hold the power button on the PS4 panel for at least 7 seconds until you hear a second system beep. 
4 Connect the USB drive to the box and enter "Safe Mode". Connect the USB stick to the USB port with the console powered off, then press and hold the power button for at least 7 seconds to boot into Safe Mode. - 5 Install a software update. Select "Update System Software" and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
