In this article, we will tell you how to set any audio file as a notification sound on an Android device.

Steps

1. 1 Copy the audio file to your Android device. Use the Android File Transfer app to transfer an audio file from your computer to your Android device; the audio file can also be downloaded from the Internet.
2. 2 Install the file manager from the Play Store. The file manager is an application with which you can view and edit folders on your device. File managers can be found in the "Tools" category of the Play Store or simply use the search bar. Good file managers are File Manager, File Commander, and File Manager Pro.
3. 3 Start the file manager. To do this, find and tap the icon for the corresponding application in the application bar.
4. 4 Find the audio file you want. In the file manager, go to the "Music" folder or another folder where you copied the desired audio file.
5. 5 Copy or move the audio file to the Notifications folder. Do this in the file manager. When the audio file is placed in the specified folder, it can be set as a notification sound.
   • In the file manager window, press and hold an audio file, and then tap the three dots icon at the top of the screen to open a menu. Now choose "Copy" or "Move" from the menu.
   • In most cases, to find the Notifications folder, in the file manager window, tap Internal Storage, Internal Storage, Storage, or a similar option. In rare cases, the specified folder is in a different location.
6. 6 Launch the Settings app. Click the gray gear icon in the app drawer.
7. 7 Scroll down and tap Sound or Sound & Notifications. This will open options that allow you to customize all sounds on your device, including alarms, notifications, and calls.
8. 8 Tap Notification Sound. A list of all audio files in the Notifications folder will be displayed.
9. 9 Select a notification sound. Scroll down to find the audio file you want, then tap to select it and it will start playing.
10. 10 Click Apply. You will find this button at the bottom of the screen. The changes made will be saved.
    • On some devices, you need to tap Done or OK to confirm your selection.
