Snapchat now lets you tag both your own birthdays and your friends' birthdays. By entering your birthday on your Snapchat profile, you will be able to use an exclusive lens on that day. Happy birthday to your friends who added this significant date to the application using a special effect.

Steps

Part 1 of 2: Wearing an Exclusive Birthday Lens

1. 1 Update Snapchat. To access the Birthday Lens, you need Snapchat version 9.25.0.0 or later. This update was released in February 2016. Go to the device's app store to check the app for new updates.
2. 2 Enter your birthday in your Snapchat settings. To use the Birthday lens, you need to enter your date of birth in your Snapchat settings.
   • Click on the ghost icon at the top of your Snapchat screen.
   • Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of the screen to open Snapchat settings.
   • Click on "Birthday" and enter your birthday. The data in this field can only be changed a few times. The Birthday lens will be available on this very day.
3. 3 Check the box next to Birthday. This will give you access to the Birthday lens as well as display the birthday cake emoji next to your name, allowing others to send you special birthday greetings. Your age will be hidden.
4. 4 Tap your face in the Snapchat camera and don't let go. After a while, a frame with available lenses will appear on the screen.
   • Point the camera at your face and stand in a well-lit area.
   • If the lenses won't load, your device may not have this feature. It requires a newer device with the latest system updates installed. Older devices may be slow or not work at all.
5. 5 Choose a Birthday lens. If it's your birthday today, the Birthday lens should be first on the list. If not, make sure to enter your date of birth correctly.
   • To send a picture to a friend on his birthday using the special Happy Birthday lens, double-click his name in the friends list. You will find more detailed information in the next section.
6. 6 Take a photo with the Birthday effect. When the Birthday lens is selected, confetti will appear on the screen, as well as an inscription from balloons: Happy Birthday. Click on the circle to take a photo, or hold it down to record a video.

Part 2 of 2: Sending a Happy Birthday Greetings

1. 1 Open your Snapchat Friends list. If your friend has a birthday and they have turned on the Birthday feature on their account, send them a picture with a special lens.
   • Click on the ghost icon at the top of the screen and select "My Friends".
2. 2 Find a friend with birthday cake emoji. The presence of a cake indicates that this person has a birthday today.It will only appear if the user has entered their date of birth in their Snapchat settings and enabled the Birthday feature.
3. 3 Double click on the user to send him a congratulatory photo. The app will automatically apply a special effect to the photo you are about to take.
4. 4 Take a picture and send it. Click on the circle to take a photo, or hold it down to record a video. The lens effect is immediately applied to the photo. Send a snapshot when you're done adding text or emojis.
