Without making your Twitter account private, it will be difficult to control who can follow your account. While there's no mainstream way to remove followers, you can still prevent other users from following your account by blocking, then unblocking them; as such, they will be removed from your follower list without ever receiving any notice of changes.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Use a mobile device

1. 

   Open the Twitter app. It's an app with a white bird icon on a blue background. Sign in to your account if you haven't done this yet.

   Tap your avatar in the upper left corner of the app screen. This will open the menu tab.

3. 

   Touch turns Followers (Followers) above "Profile" (Personal page). With this, you will see a list "Followers".

   Tap on the follower you want to block. This will take you to their account page.

   Touch the button ⋮. This is the option in the upper-right corner of the application screen.

   Touch Block (Block out). A confirmation message will be displayed on the screen after this operation.

   Touch Block when asked. This is the selected follower action.

8. 

   Tap on “Blocked”. You will find this option in the upper right corner of the screen.

   Touch YES in the currently displayed menu. That follower has now been unblocked, but they are no longer following your account. advertisement

Method 2 of 2: Use a calculator

1. 

   Access your Twitter page. If you aren't logged into your account, you'll need to enter your registered Twitter email address (or phone number / username) and password.

2. 

   Click Profile (Personal page) in the left menu.

3. 

   Click Followers (Followers). You'll find this below Twitter's personal introduction.

4. 

   Click the follower you want to block. This is the action of opening their profile.

5. 

   Click the button ⋯. This option is shown to the left of the button "Theo dõi" (Tracking) (or “Following” (Following)) on the user's info box. A list of choices will appear on your screen.

6. 

   Choose Block @Username (Block out @ username) in the list.

7. 

   Click Block (Block) again when asked. You will see a message "Successfully blocked." (Blocked successfully) after this operation.

8. 

   Click the button Blocked (Block out). This is the button in the upper-right corner of the selected follower's profile. Next, choose Unblock (Unblock) in the currently displayed menu. After the click, they are no longer blocked but removed from your follower list. advertisement

Advice

• You can access a user's profile to block them by clicking or tapping on their name on your Twitter feed page or using the Twitter search bar to find their name.
• Blocked users have no other way to contact you on Twitter.

Warning

• If your account isn't private, blocking and unblocking followers still gives them the opportunity to follow you again if they want to.
