Since the Cambridge Analytica data scandal, Facebook has applied a series of changes to finding information related to others on the social network. While you can't use a third-party search engine like StalkScan or the built-in search bar to find someone's comments, you can still find other people's comments on your content. This article shows you how to find your friends' comments on your Facebook posts, as well as how to find someone's comments in countless comments on posts.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Find your friends' comments on your posts (on computer)

1. 

   Log in https://www.facebook.com from a web browser. You can use the "See Friendship" feature to view the page containing all articles and comments between you and a certain friend.

   Visit a friend's personal Facebook page. You can do this by finding their name through the search bar at the top of the page.

   Click the three-dot menu ••• at the person's cover photo, above their profile page to open a menu.

   Click See Friendship in the menu. With this action, the screen will display a page with a list of posts with comments from your profile and that friend with the comments they have posted. advertisement

Method 2 of 3: find friends' comments on your posts (on mobile)

   Open the Facebook app on your phone or tablet. It's a blue icon with a white "f" usually displayed on the home screen or in the app store. You can use the "See Friendship" feature to see the page containing all articles and comments between you and a certain friend.

   Visit a friend's profile. You will find friends by touching the magnifying glass icon at the top of the screen and entering their names.

   Tap on the three-dot menu ⋮ in the upper right corner. That can be horizontal or vertical ellipses depending on the version being used.

   Touch See Friendship. With this action, the screen will display a page with a list of posts with comments from your profile and that friend with the comments they have posted. advertisement

Method 3 of 3: Find your friends' comments on posts with lots of comments

1. 

   Log in https://www.facebook.com from a web browser. If you want to find a friend's comment on a certain photo or post, first log into your Facebook account.
   • This method won't work for the Facebook app on your iPhone or iPad, but you can log into Facebook from the web browser of your phone or tablet.

   Scroll to the post for which you want to find comments. If you don't see your friends' names and comments under posts, perhaps the information is buried in countless other comments. It is also possible that the comments section has been filtered to show only the newest or most popular comments.
   • The number of comments is usually shown below posts.
   • The comment's response count is usually displayed next to the comment. The comment's response shows up as a thread, so a comment's responses appear below the comment instead of the original post.

   Click View x Comments (See more x comment) above first comment. The "x" is the number of hidden comments (or the word "Previous" if there are multiple comments). Click on that link to open more hidden comments that are not yet visible.
   • If you see "Most Relevant" above the comment list, click on it and select All Comments (All comments)
   • If you still see the link View previous comments (See previous comment) above the first comment, that means you need to click on it again to see more comments. You may have to click this button more than once until you see all the comments.
   • To see all responses related to a comment, click x Replies (x Feedback) below comments. For example, if the comment has 2 responses, the link will be displayed 2 Replies (2 Responses).

   Press Ctrl+F (on Windows) or ⌘ Cmd+F (on Mac) to open the Find window. This will open a smaller window allowing you to find a specific content on the page.
   • If you're using a phone or tablet, you'll need to open the browser's Find feature:
     • Safari on iPhone / iPad: Gently swipe down to see the selection bar at the bottom of the screen and select the Share icon (Share - a square with an up arrow). Swipe the icon line left and select Find on Page (Find on page)
     • Chrome: Tap the three-dot menu and select Find in Page ... (Search in page ...)

5. 

   Enter a friend's first and / or last name. This search form will show exact results; So, remember to enter many contiguous characters.
   • For example, if you want to find comments by someone named Megan Lopez, type Megan Lopez in the Find box.
   • The import megan the search box will display the comments of anyone named Megan.

   Use the arrows on the Find window to scroll through the results. Clicking the down arrow on the Find window takes you to the first search result on the page. Clicking the down arrow again will bring you to another search result. Continue working until you have seen all of the search results. advertisement
