- Make sure that the number of threads to remove on each side of the fastener is equal.
- This is to ensure that the watch face remains in the center of the strap.
- Write down the number of threads to remove on each side of the fastener.
- Count the number of wires to remove, calculate the entanglement keyword.
- Find the position of the last wire fixing pin.
- This is where the eye removal should be done.
Use a latch release tool. Use a latch push to release the latch that secures the latch.
- Press the tip of the latch release tool against the tip of the pin.
- If there is not enough force, you can use a hammer to close the latch release tool into the hole to push the latch lever out of the hole.
- A pin will pop out from the other side of the wire.
- Continue, use a hammer to nail the pin to further enlarge.
- After the pin has come out of the hole long enough for the nose to grip, you can use the pliers to remove it.
- Use small nose pliers to grip the pin tip.
- Pull out the latch.
- At this time, the eyes you need to remove on one side of the fastener will come off.
- Repeat with the other side of the string.
Remove the fastener from the wire segment to be removed. You will need to get the clasp to re-attach it to the strap.
- Use the same method as when you removed the eyelet.
- Fasteners are also connected to the laces by latches. You just need to use the hammer, push pin and pliers to remove the pin.
- Then, reattach the buckle to the strap.
- You will see the hole to attach the latch fixing the hook.
- Take one of the pins that you removed and insert in this hole.
- The pin will easily penetrate the hole, just pausing slightly near the end.
- Use the hammer to gently close the latch into the hole.
- Repeat the process on the other side of the hook.
- Your watch strap is then properly aligned.
Try on the watch. Now the loop fits, not too big or too small.
- If you miss more than the required number of eyes, try to reattach each eye on each side of the wire.
- If you have not removed enough eyes, re-measure to see how many links you need to remove to make the watch tighter but still comfortable.
- Wear the watch for a few days to make sure it's comfortable.
Advice
- Do not use a screwdriver to poke your body.
- Choose a hard surface to minimize movement of the watch while you perform tuning.
