Is this your first time playing with Minecraft PE and you have no idea what to do with that new world? Start building a house to protect you from mobs, to sleep in, and to build things in. You can make a simple home for the first few nights, but if you want to create an impressive home that can last you a little longer, read this article.

Part 1 of 4: Collecting standard materials

1. Collect wood and wooden planks. You can get wood by cutting down trees and planks by working the wood on the workbench. Wood is a great basic material because it is cheap and easy to find.
2. Collect rock and cobblestone. Stone can be found everywhere, especially underground and in mountains. Use a pickaxe to chop it loose, where you may also come across cobblestone that doesn't look like anything else.
   • You can even make a simple rock generator (using lava and water), if you don't feel like searching and carving it.
3. Make sure you have quartz. Quartz is obtained by building a Nether Reactor in Minecraft PE. Because of this, these types of blocks are very expensive in Survival Mode, but if you want to add some white to your buildings, that's the best way.
4. Collect sand. Sand is an ordinary natural block and can be found near water or in the desert. This is an easy way to add beige to the available colors and is cheap even if you don't want to invest too much time.
5. Get coal. Coal is a material that you will have to excavate, but it is very common. This is the easiest way to add black to your palette. Remember, the ore looks like stone with black spots, and you'll need a stone pickaxe or higher!

Part 2 of 4: Ideas for a home

1. Build a simple house. You can build a house that resembles your own or similar. By using stairs to create a roof and avoiding box shapes, you can make even a simple house look nice.
2. Build a castle. You can make a castle with cobbles or plain stone, complete with dungeons. You can even make green wool to revive a giant dragon to defeat! Look at images of actual castles for inspiration.
   • Fences are useful for creating a watchtower.
3. Build an underwater housing. With a few tricks it is possible to make a house under the water in Minecraft PE. Just build a house on the surface of the water, fill it with soil, seal the house, and then remove the soil again.
4. Build a state-of-the-art home. Push the limits of your creativity and create a futuristic house, with a box and walls made of glass. They look great on a cliff.
5. Build the Bat Cave. You can even add a waterfall for Batman. Batmobile not included ... unless of course you make one.
   • Build a country house on top of the cave.
6. Build a tree house. Set up a gigantic tree and make a house in it that either twists around the trunk and branches or is cut into the tree. You can even create an entire village this way and use it to hang out with friends.
7. Build a Roman temple. Use quartz and pillars to build a cool Roman palace. You can even put a temple in it for yourself! Don't forget the pool and a cypress avenue to complete the picture!
8. Build Hogwarts. This is not a small construction project, but who wouldn't want his own magic school in which to experience adventures. Create classrooms, the Great Hall, a dormitory, the greenhouses, library and other parts of the castle you can't live without. Don't forget the lake and the Quidditch field!
9. Create an apartment complex. Build a skyscraper with apartments. Of course you don't have to fill every home. Maybe a few for your friends ... but keep the penthouse for yourself!
10. Build a pirate ship and get on board! Remember, the bigger you make the ship, the more detail you can add to it. But be careful not to get scurvy!

Part 3 of 4: How to easily build something

1. Apply colored blocks to mark your foundation. For example, blue wool to indicate the corners of your walls and white wool for glass. Place these blocks in the first layer so you can build directly on top. This way you know for sure that everything is aligned and you can find out approximately how much material you need.
2. Choose materials you can afford. Build houses with materials that you can easily collect. Otherwise, get ready to invest in a long-term project. This can be a lot of fun! Just play in a way that you like.
3. Always start with the outside. This is often the hardest part of a building, so it is better to build the walls first and it will motivate you to keep going. It's also important to keep everything looking well designed and neat. This is how buildings are erected in real life!
   • Building the exterior first has the added value of a ceiling, which means you can shelter from rain and snow.
4. Make it interesting. You can make a cool house in any shape you want. All you have to do to make it cool is make sure it isn't boring! You do this by making sure that the house is not just 1 block, and also by not making the walls too smooth. Add niches, towers and wings. It is also important to make sure that the walls and ceiling are not all the same color, otherwise it will look like a clump!
5. Don't forget the scenery. Another key to an interesting home is an interesting landscape. A cool house on a completely empty surface is pretty boring. Add gardens, streets or other decorations to make the environment fun to be in.

Part 4 of 4: Finding tools

1. Make use of building plans. You can find various ready-made building plans online, which explain exactly how to make various buildings yourself. This is great for beginners, who are new to Minecraft material.
   • Minecraft Building Inc is a good example.
2. Use drawing tools. There are a number of websites where you can make construction plans yourself, and indicate exactly where which materials should be placed. A frequently used website is MineDraft.
3. Watch YouTube videos. There are tons of videos on YouTube explaining how to make a cool building and other structures. Take the time to discover what is possible and then get started yourself.

Tips

• Look for even more things you can do with Minecraft so you don't get bored. Minecraft is a game with many possibilities, but you will have to discover them.
• Make your home as big as you want, with room for chests and other things you want to store. You don't want it to get too full!
• You can improve the house even further if you find more materials.

Warnings

• Do not make your house too small, that is much worse than a house that is too big.
