This wikiHow shows you how to select a WhatsApp chat message on iOS or Android and copy it to your device's clipboard. After copying, you can paste your message in another chat or on another form.

Method 1 of 2: Using iPhone

1. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone. The icon looks like a green speech bubble with a white telephone. You will usually find this on your home screen.
2. Tap the chat you want to copy a message from. Scroll down your chats and select the good chat to open the messages.
   • When WhatsApp opens directly on a conversation, you can use the Select and hold the message you want to copy. Now a menu appears with a number of choices.
   • Tap To copy on the menu. This will put the message on your device's clipboard.
     • After this you can paste the copied message in another chat or another program. For example, paste it in the Notes app or in a text field on a web page.
     • Select a text field on your iPhone and hold it for a bit longer. Then choose To stick from the menu to put the text in the new field.

Method 2 of 2: Using Android

1. Open WhatsApp on your Android. The WhatsApp icon is a green speech bubble with a white phone inside. You can find this on the "All apps" screen.
2. Tap the chat you want to copy a message from.
   • When WhatsApp opens a conversation, tap Select and hold the message you want to copy. You will then see your options in a toolbar at the top of the screen.
   • Tap the copy icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen. This icon shows two forms one after the other. It's next to the white icon at the top right. This will copy the selected message to your Android clipboard.
     • The message is now ready to be copied to another chat or text field.
     • To paste, tap a field and hold it until a menu appears. Select To stick from this menu.
