In this article, we will show you how to open the Terminal utility on a Mac computer. Terminal allows you to view and adjust operating system settings using text commands.
To step
Method 1 of 2: With Finder
Click the Finder icon in your dock. You can recognize Finder by the square icon with a smiley in two shades of blue.
- You can also open Finder by clicking on your desktop.
click on Go in the menu bar. This is at the top of the screen.
click on Utilities.
- You can also use the key combination ⇧ Shift+⌘+YOU use.
Scroll down and double click Terminal in the "Tools" window. Now a Terminal window will open.
Method 2 of 2: With Spotlight
Click on the Spotlight icon. That's the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen.
- You can also press ⌘+space.
Start typing terminal in the search box. Continue typing until you see the Terminal icon appear.
Double click on Terminal. A Terminal window will now open.
