This wikiHow teaches you how to convert a TIFF file to a PDF file. TIFF files are older than PDF files, but less compatible with common programs and websites than PDF files. You can convert a TIFF to a PDF using a free online converter, or use Adobe Acrobat if you have a paid account with Adobe.

Method 1 of 2: Using an online converter

1. Open the website for converting TIFF to PDF. Go to http://tiff2pdf.com/ in your web browser.
2. click on UPLOAD files. This blue-green button is in the center of the page. An Explorer window (Windows) or Finder window (Mac) opens.
3. Select your TIFF file. Click on the TIFF file you want to convert to PDF.
   • You must first open the location of the TIFF file by clicking the appropriate folder on the left side of the window.
4. click on To open. This button is located in the lower right corner of the window. The file will be uploaded to the website.
5. Wait for the file to finish uploading. When the file has finished uploading, you will see a DOWNLOADbutton below its icon in the center of the page.
6. click on DOWNLOAD. This button is located below the file. The converted PDF file will be downloaded to your computer.
   • When you double-click the PDF file, it should then be opened in your computer's standard PDF reader.

Method 2 of 2: Using Adobe Acrobat

1. Make sure you have the paid version of Adobe Acrobat. The Adobe Acrobat Reader that most people have can open files, but not export them. You need the paid version of Adobe Acrobat to convert PDFs to other documents.
   • If you only want to convert one file, you can download a free trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro from the Adobe download page to take advantage of the paid features for a limited time.
2. Open Adobe Acrobat. This app's icon resembles the triangular Adobe logo on a black background.
3. click on File. You can find this in the top left corner of the window. A drop-down menu will appear.
4. click on Create PDF online. This is an option at the top of the drop-down menu of File. A new window will open.
5. click on Select file for PDF conversion. You can find this blue button in the middle of the page. An Explorer window (Windows) or a Finder window (Mac) will appear.
6. Select your TIFF file. Click on the TIFF file you want to convert to PDF.
   • You may first need to open the location of the TIFF file by clicking the folder on the left side of the window.
7. click on To open. This button is located in the lower right corner of the window. The TIFF file is uploaded.
8. click on Convert to PDF. This blue button is located in the center of the page. The TIFF file will be converted to a PDF file, which will likely open in Adobe Acrobat.
   • If you are not logged in to your Adobe account by default, you will need to enter your Adobe account email address and password when prompted.
9. Save your converted PDF. click on File, click on Save in the drop-down menu, type a name for the file and click Save.
