Does your Sims drive you crazy? Are they super hungry, tired or do they need to go to the bathroom? This wikiHow teaches you how to make all your Sims happy, both with and without cheats, in The Sims 4.

Method 1 of 2: Make your Sims happy without cheats

1. Build a house containing everything your Sims need. Even if you are just starting a new game and have few simoleons, make sure your Sims have all the amenities they need. They need a bed to sleep in, a kitchen with a sink, stove and refrigerator, a bathroom with toilet, sink and shower or bathtub, and a television, radio or some books for entertainment. A facility that is often forgotten is having waste bins. Make sure you have both indoor (a small) and outdoor (a large) bins on your plot.
   • To enter build mode, select the icon that resembles a hammer and wrench at the top right of the screen. Here you can buy amenities and make additions to your home.
2. Set Sim self-employment to full. Completing Sim Self-Employment allows your Sims to act for themselves and fulfill their needs independently. Follow these steps to fill up Sim Self-Employment:
   • Select the icon with three dots (...), in the top right corner.
   • Select Game options.
   • Select Gameplay in the sidebar on the left.
   • Use the drop-down menu next to "Independence" to Fully to select.
   • Uncheck the box next to "Disable Autonomy for Selected Sim".
   • Select Make changes, in the lower left corner of the options screen.
3. Check your Sims' needs. Select the photo of a Sim at the bottom of the screen, then select the icon that resembles an emoji with an arrow next to it in the bottom right of the screen to check your Sims needs. If any of your Sims' needs are red, they need to be fulfilled right away. If their needs are yellow or orange, they must be met soon or soon. Your Sims needs are as follows:
   • Bladder: If a Sim's bladder requirement is low, click on the toilet and select Use to send your Sim to the bathroom.
   • Hunger: When your Sim is hungry, click on the fridge to have them grab a quick meal or leftovers from a previous meal. You can also click on the stove, microwave, or grill to let your Sim cook a meal for themselves or serve it for the entire household.
   • Energy: If your Sim's energy is low, click on a bed or couch to take them for a nap or to put them to sleep. You can also have your Sim drink an energy drink or make coffee with a coffee machine.
   • Pleasure: If your Sim's need for fun is low, have your Sim watch TV, read a book, listen to music, play a game, or engage in some other fun activity.
   • Social: If your Sim's social needs are low, allow them to interact with other Sims in your household. If there are no other Sims in your household, select the phone icon at the bottom of the screen to let your Sim call another Sim. You can also use the phone to have your Sim travel nearby to interact with other Sims.
   • Hygiene: If your Sim's hygiene is low, select the shower or tub to have your Sim shower or bathe.
4. Keeps your home clean. Most Sims cannot tolerate messy or dirty houses unless they have the "Slob" trait. When you find heaps of trash, have one of your Sims throw them away. If there are dirty dishes or cups, have a Sim wash and hide them. If a counter, sink, or shower looks dirty, have one of your Sims clean it. If green gas comes out of the toilet, have a Sim clean it.
5. Improve your facilities. When your Sims are promoted and earn more simoleons, it is good to buy better amenities for the house as well. If your Sims wake up with a sore back, buy a better bed. If there are devices that keep breaking or catching fire, replace them with better ones. You can also buy showers, sinks and toilets that need to be cleaned less often.
6. Fulfill whims. Fads are optional tasks that your Sims will love to complete. Whims will appear as thought bubbles above your Sim's head in the lower left corner of the screen. Select a thought bubble to view information about the fad. Fads are usually tasks like "Talk to Other Sims", "Dance to Music", "Watch TV", and so on. Fulfilling fads not only makes your Sims happier, they also earn reward points.
7. Purchase potions or properties from the rewards shop. Select the ambition icon at the bottom right of the screen to get to the rewards shop. This is the large hexagon-shaped icon. Then select the icon that resembles a gift at the top right of the pop-up screen. This will show you the rewards store. You can use your reward points to buy potions and attributes. A Happy Drink will make your Sim happy all at once and will keep working for a while. You can also buy traits that reduce or remove your Sim's needs.

Method 2 of 2: Make your Sims happy with cheats

1. Load a Sims 4 game. Fire up The Sims 4 and load up a game with Sims you want to please.
2. Open the cheat console. The console is a text terminal in the game that you can use to enter cheats and commands. To open the console on a PC, press ⇧ Shift+Ctrl+C.. On the Xbox One, press simultaneously RT+LT+R.+L.. On the Playstation 4, press simultaneously R1+L1+R2+L2.
3. Type testingcheats true and press ↵ Enter. This activates cheats in your game.
   • Warning: When cheats are activated, achievements and trophies are permanently disabled for the loaded game. If you want to regain achievements and / or trophies you will have to start a new game without cheats.
4. Type sims.fill_all_commodities and press ↵ Enter. This cheat fulfills the needs of all the Sims in your household and instantly turns their mood into happy (or some other positive mood).
   • To make an individual Sim happy, press Esc to exit the console. Likes ⇧ Shift and click on a Sim. Select Cheat need then select Make happy.
5. Use the Equip Trait cheat. You can use the Rust Trait Cheat to permanently change your Sims traits and remove some of their more annoying traits. After enabling cheats, select a Sim and type one of the following cheats into the console. Then press ↵ Enter to change the Sim's traits to help your Sim stay happy.
   • traits.equip_trait Carefree: This trait keeps your Sim carefree so that he or she never gets tense.
   • traits.equip_trait HardlyHungry: This trait makes your Sim less hungry.
   • traits.equip_trait NeverWeary: This trait makes your Sim need less sleep.
   • traits.equip_trait Player: This trait lets a Sim do whatever he or she wants without making other Sims jealous.
   • traits.equip_trait Shameless: This trait ensures that your Sim will never feel embarrassed.
   • traits.equip_trait SteelBladder: This trait ensures that your Sim hardly ever has to go to the bathroom.
   • traits.equip_trait happy_toddler: This trait makes toddler Sims happy.
