Easy Money? Well, let's say, not entirely easy, but real. Google's Adsense service is a great earning opportunity for small, medium and large sites. AdSense displays advertisements for products and services that are relevant to your site's content, targeting your regular visitors. You, in turn, receive a small amount for each ad impression or for a user clicks on the ad. Today we present you with several ways to increase your Adsense income.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Create your ad

1. 1 Sign in to your Adsense account. Go to Adsense and click on my announcements in the upper left corner.
   • Create a new ad unit. From the home page select Content> Ad Units, click the button + New ad unit.
2. 2 Enter a name for your ad unit. It can be any name you like, but you should still develop a naming format to manage large amounts of data.
   • For example, one possible approach is [ad placement site] _ [ad block size] _ [block creation date], which would look something like mywebsite.com_336x280_080112. Whichever naming standard you choose, make it convenient and understandable for you.
3. 3 Please select a size. How to do this will be discussed later, but Google offers best practices to get more clicks on your ad.
4. 4 Select the type of ad. Determine the type of ads that will be displayed on your site: text only; text and image / multimedia ads; and only image / multimedia ads.
5. 5 Create a customer channel. The custom channel will allow you to group ad blocks of your choice, for example, by size or position on the page.
   • You can track the performance of your customer channels and use your channel as an ad placement that advertisers can target to direct their ads to appear in specific ad units.
6. 6 Choose your ad style. You can customize the colors of individual ad unit components: borders, headers, background, text, and URL. You can also choose a corner style from square to rounded, font family and default font size.
   • It is recommended that you create ads that are consistent in style with the overall look and colors of your site.
   • You can use Google presets or use your own settings. In both cases, on the right, you will be able to see how your ad unit will be displayed.
7. 7 Get your ad code. Once you're done with your ad settings, you can either save your ad unit or click Save and get code below to get the HTML code for your site.

Method 2 of 3: How to Develop Your Own Advertising Campaign

1. 1 Analyze your content. When designing any advertising campaign, you need to know who your target audience is. If you run a food blog and, for example, target the average bachelor with limited expenses, then you've already narrowed down your target audience. Also in this case you have a great ad focus group. What might be of interest to single men preparing dinner for themselves? Here are a few options: dating, cars, politics, and live music.
   • Think about who constitutes the main permanent audience of your site, write down what, in your opinion, are the most important characteristics of your site.
2. 2 Fine-tune your ads. While AdSense automatically fills your ad units with ads that the system considers relevant to your site's content, you can use the tools available to control your ads more closely.
   • Tune channels. Channels are sort of tags that allow you to sort your ads by color, section, or country. By setting up channels, you will receive detailed reports on the performance of your ad units, and use the information received to your advantage. For example:
     • Use one ad style for one page group and a different style for another page group. Track and compare the effectiveness of a particular style and choose the best option.
     • Compare the effectiveness of blocks on pages of different topics. For example, if ads on gardening pages perform better than on cooking pages, you should consider adding content to the gardening section.
     • If you have multiple domains, set up channels to track which one generates the most clicks.
3. 3 Optimize ad unit placement and website design. Google has determined which ad placements are the most performing and which are the least performing.
   • Ads that are displayed on initial page load (that is, in the "header" of the site) are more effective than those that are located below.
   • The ads in the upper left side receive more attention than the ads in the lower right.
   • Ads placed above the main content, at the bottom of the page, and above the footer of the page also perform well.
   • Wide ad blocks are more effective because they are easier to read.
   • Ads containing images and videos also perform well.
   • Using a color scheme that complements your site's colors improves the readability of your ads and therefore makes them more effective.
4. 4 Find out how Adsense works. The Adsense engine automatically displays ads on your site based on the following criteria:
   • Context targeting... The Adsense crawlers crawl your page, analyze your content, and deliver ads that match the content of your page. It uses keyword analysis, word frequency, font size, and page linking.
   • Placement targeting... This allows advertisers to select specific locations to display ads on the publisher's site. If your site meets the advertiser's criteria, ads will appear on the pages of your site.
   • Interest Based Advertising... This allows advertisers to reach out to users based on their interests and previous user interactions with them, such as previous visits to advertisers' sites. Setting Google advertising preferences allows users to choose the categories of their interests, which subsequently helps advertisers to make their advertising campaigns more targeted. This method is suitable for more effective monetization of your site, as it adds value to advertisers and presents opportunities for a more relevant user experience.

Method 3 of 3: How Much Can You Make?

1. 1 An objective approach to making money. When signing up for AdSense, you will probably want to know what level of earnings you can expect. There are many parameters that affect the level of estimated income, so effective management of these parameters will help maximize the level of your potential income.
2. 2 Traffic. The first and most important thing that will allow you to make money on the Adsense system is the users who will click on your ads. To do this, you need visitors who are interested in your site's content! Regardless of whether you are the owner of a business portal or have a personal blog, the rule is one - declare yourself!
   • Large sites with heavy traffic can gain up to a million views per day, while for a small blog it is considered good luck to get at least 100 visitors per day.
   • For every thousand views, you are charged from $ 0.05 to $ 5. Of course, this is a wide range of values, and if you take into account the monthly period, this amount can be from $ 1.50 to $ 150.00! At what level of earnings your site will turn out to be largely dependent on you, the site itself and your efforts in its promotion.
3. 3 Pay per click (CPC). In this case, each of the transitions of users on the ad on the page of your site is paid. No, you yourself cannot click on the ads on your site: Google will notice this one and your account will be disconnected so quickly that you won't have time to blink an eye. Advertisers set their own cost per click, and prices can vary greatly.
   • Advertisers can spend quite large sums of money on pay-per-click advertising campaigns, but such an ad may not generate much interest on your site.
   • An ad with a cost per click of $ 0.03 can get 100 clicks, but it won't generate a lot of revenue.
4. 4 Click-through rate (CTR). This is the percentage of the total number of visitors to your site and the number of visitors who clicked on your ad. If your site was visited by 100 people and one of them clicked on your ad, then your CTR is 1%, and this is a normal rate. You will be able to see the real difference while increasing your website traffic.
5. 5 Revenue per 1000 impressions (RPM). This is an estimate of how much you could earn for 1000 impressions (page views).
   • For example, if you earned $ 1 per 100 impressions, then your RPM would be $ 10. This figure is not a guaranteed income, but based on RPM, you will be able to gauge the overall performance of your site.
6. 6 Content is everything. The quality of your content is an important factor when predicting your earning potential.If your site provides rich, engaging content and a great user experience, you will have more interested users. This will also make it easier and faster for Google's crawlers to find relevant ad content that best suits your site. Interested users + targeting = your formula for earning money!
7. 7 Create keyword-rich pages. Place carefully selected, revenue-generating keywords with a specific density on the optimized pages of your site and you will receive natural, high-quality backlinks to your site.
   • If your site is about topics like debt consolidation, web hosting, or asbestos cancer, you’ll make a lot more money than if your site was about “giving puppies in good hands for free”.
   • If you only focus on high paying keywords, you will face stiff competition. What you need are keywords that are in high demand, but for which there are very few offers. Thus, you need to do a thorough keyword analysis to optimize your pages.

Tips

• Although Google does not disclose the exact details on which the content of ads on a particular page depends, the system rules state that ads depend on the text content of the page and not on the meta tags.
• Quality is the most important characteristic of any website. If your site does not contain content of decent quality, most likely, a visitor who visits your site once may not return to it again.
• Some webmasters are developing brand new sites specifically for AdSense text ads, but this is against the rules of the AdSense system, which prohibits the creation of sites entirely under AdSense, especially since you probably go to place several affiliate links or sell your own product.
• Great resources for making money are using traffic generating sites like Flixya. You can sign up to Google Adsense and Flixya without the time and money needed to drive traffic or build your own website.
• Do not use non-English characters on English-language pages - there is a programming bug causing irrelevant ads in French to be displayed.

Warnings

• Google places a lot of restrictions on how ads can be served. One of the main reasons for blocking an account is to configure ad blocks to make visitors think they are “content”. To be clear, never try to use CSS to hide the Google logo unless you have obtained official permission!
• At the very beginning of the Internet era, you could see a request to click on ads on sites. Times have changed, and now, if Google detects any possible fraudulent activity, your account is blocked, since there is no presumption of innocence.
• If your site has no content, Google will have to guess what your page is about. In this case, the system may determine the topic incorrectly, and irrelevant ads will be displayed on the page.
• Don't click on the ads on your site. If Google catches you doing this, your account will be blocked and all the money you earn will be withheld. However, if you clicked on your ad by mistake a couple of times, Google will keep the money earned from those clicks, and there will be no penalties, as this does not happen all the time.
