Burning MP3 files to CD allows you to listen to your favorite tracks through the CD player, which is especially useful if you don't have a digital media or MP3 player. MP3 files can be burned to disc in most popular music players, including iTunes, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and Winamp.

Steps

Method 1 of 4: iTunes

  1. 1 Launch iTunes and click on "File".
  2. 2 Click on "New" and select "Playlist".
  3. 3 Give the playlist a new name, and then drag songs from your iTunes library to the playlist window on the right. To burn songs to a CD, you first need to create a playlist.
  4. 4 Insert a blank CD-R disc into your computer's drive.
  5. 5 Select your playlist and click File.
  6. 6 Select "Burn Playlist to Disc" and select "Audio CD" or "MP3 CD" as the disc format, depending on your preference.
  7. 7 Click on "Burn". This process will take a few minutes, after which iTunes will notify you that the recording is complete. If the playlist is too large to burn to disc, iTunes will prompt you to insert another disc to complete the burning process.

Method 2 of 4: Windows Media Player

  1. 1 Start Windows Media Player and go to the Recording tab.
  2. 2 Drag songs and playlists to the recording list on the right. The songs must be added to the burn list in the order in which you want to burn them on the CD.
  3. 3 Insert a blank CD-R disc into your computer's drive.
  4. 4 Click on the drop-down menu in the upper right corner of the window.
  5. 5 Select "Audio CD" and click on "Start Burning". This process will take a few minutes, after which the player will eject the CD from the computer.

Method 3 of 4: RealPlayer

  1. 1 Launch RealPlayer and go to the Burn tab.
  2. 2 Select “Audio CD Burner”, then insert a blank CD-R into your computer's drive.
  3. 3 Click on "Burn" at the top of the RealPlayer.
  4. 4 Click “Select CD Type” under “Tasks” on the right sidebar.
  5. 5 Select "Audio CD" or "MP3 CD", then click "OK".
  6. 6 Click on “Add Tracks from my Library” and then select “All Music”.
  7. 7 Drag tracks on the left to the recording list on the right. RealPlayer will notify you of how much disk space is left as you move tracks into the recording list.
  8. 8 Click on “Burn Your CD”. The process will take several minutes, after which the program will inform you that the disc has been successfully burned.

Method 4 of 4: Winamp

  1. 1 Start Winamp and insert a blank CD-R into your computer's drive.
  2. 2 Open the View menu and select Library.
  3. 3 Select an empty disk from the list in the Library section, then click Add at the bottom of the Winamp window.
  4. 4 Select the playlist you want to burn, or click on "Files" or "Folders" to search for music.
  5. 5 Select the tracks you want to burn to CD and click OK.
  6. 6 Click on "Burn" at the bottom of Winamp and check the box next to "Check recorded files and folders".
  7. 7 Click on "Burn" in the "Burn" dialog box. This process will take a few minutes, after which Winamp will notify you that the CD burned successfully.

Tips

  • If you want to burn hundreds of songs onto a disc instead of the standard 20, select “MP3 CD” when choosing a format. MP3 files are compressed more efficiently than other file types, allowing hundreds of tracks to be recorded onto a single disc.
