In the Bhagavad Gita scripture, God Krishna declares "patram pushpam phalam toyam yo me bhaktya prayacchati tad aham bhakty-upahritam ashnami prayatatmanah"

"Whoever offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, flower, fruit or water, I will accept him sincerely."

Hinduism as a religion suits all types of people, whether they are believers in God with or without form. It is believed that the truth of God can be achieved through ritual worship, meditation, or even the simple proclamation of the holy names. Ritual worship can be complex, taking several hours, with chanting of mantras, Prasadam (consecrated food) and Harati (waving lamps), or it can be as simple as offering one leaf of Tulasi (holy basil) or Bael (for Lord Shiva) and Prasadam. While ritual worship pleases some people, others are content with meditating on God or chanting His name. It goes without saying that any form of worship requires a pure and unshakable mind, thoughtful of God, adherence to the Dharma, and aversion to sin.

Steps

1 Make sure you have the necessary items for the ceremony.
2 Cleanse yourself in the bathroom. While bathing, one must chant the name of God.While the ordinary bathing process purifies us externally by reciting the name of God, we purify our mind, body and soul (trikarana shuddhi).
3Mark the forehead with tilak (urdhva pundra) or Bhasma
4 Light the lamp and place the akshata flowers on the bottom of the lamp.
5 Blow out the Shankh three times. The sound of the conch shell is an auspicious omen, which indicates an invitation from God, and also drives away all evil.
6 Ring the bell (ghanta). If you don't have a sink, you can just ring the bell.
7 Those with an image of an idol can offer ritual worship in the prescribed manner. Others who can, but do not have the time and / or funds to acquire the image of an idol, but have an idea of God in their worship, can do it mentally.
8 Keep the water in a clean container.
9Offer God a place (asana)
10 Offer water to wash the holy lotus feet (paadhya).
11 Offer water to wash the lotus of the Lord's hand (arghya).
12 Offer water for the Lord to drink (acamana).
13 Undress the Lord, or tie a plain white cloth around like a dhoti.
14 Bathe the Lord by chanting mantras.
15 First: Water
16 Second: Milk
17 Third: Yogurt
18 Fourth: Melted butter
19 Fifth: Honey
20 Sixth: Sugar
21Take the items from the above 6 items into a bowl and set aside until the end of the Puja
22 Next, redeem God with the following elements in sequence, one by one:

24Charged Water of Mantra
25Coconut water
26Pink water
27Juice from various seasonal fruits
28Liquefied Sandalwood Oil
29Turmeric is mixed with liquefied (still thick) yogurt
30Ashes of Vibhuti
31Final bathing in water
32 Cleanse God and dress him in clean clothes and jewelry.
33 Offer flowers to chant mantras.
34 Offer incense.
35 Offer Prasadam to God.
36Light the fuse and show Harati to God
37 Walk around God clockwise three times.
38 Exhale Shank three times.
39 Offer obeisances.
40 Offer prayers for forgiveness for any mistakes made during the Puja ceremony.
