In this article, we will show you how to delete Instagram private messages on a mobile device.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: How to delete a conversation
1 Launch Instagram on your mobile device. Tap the pink-orange-yellow-purple camera icon on the home screen (iPhone / iPad) or the app drawer (Android).
- Use this method to delete all your Instagram private messages.
- Keep in mind that your messages will remain in the accounts of your interlocutors.
- To delete your message from the other person's account, cancel sending the message.
2 Click on the Inbox icon. It is located in the upper right corner and looks like a paper airplane if there are no new messages, or a pink circle with a number if there are new messages (the number indicates the number of unread messages).
3 Swipe to the left of the correspondence. Two options will appear to the right of the chat.
4 Tap Delete. A pop-up window will appear.
5 Click on Delete. The correspondence will be removed from your account.
Method 2 of 2: How to cancel sending a message
1 Launch Instagram on your mobile device. Tap the pink-orange-yellow-purple camera icon on the home screen (iPhone / iPad) or the app drawer (Android).
- You can only delete your own messages. To delete other people's messages, you will have to delete all correspondence.
- This method will allow you to cancel sending the message, that is, it will disappear from the accounts of your interlocutors.
