Red dust torches in Minecraft are needed not only to illuminate rooms, but also as a source of current in electrical circuits. Here's how to create a Flashing Redstone (Dust) Torch. Read on to find out more.

Method 1 of 2: Create a Torch from Primary Ingredients

1. 1 You need a red stone. This is the most important ingredient in this case, as you might have guessed from the name of the torch. The red stone can be found by digging the ground. Red ore usually lurks deep underground, so you'll need a pickaxe. Each block of red ore gives 4-5 redstone. You can get it in other ways:
   • Trade with a priest in the village
   • Killing a witch who usually drops 0-6 redstone
   • Collecting red dust in jungle temples
   • Redstone block crafting
2. 2 Find a stick. For a torch you need a stick (wooden). To do this, you will need two boards (place one on top of the other). You will have 4 sticks. You can also get sticks:
   • By killing a witch who drops 0-6 sticks
   • By opening a box with a bonus
3. 3 Match the red stone and stick in the crafting menu. Open your inventory and use the crafting menu. You will receive one torch.
   • Be careful when using red torches - since they don't give a lot of light, monsters can still appear where you place them. Be ready!
4. 4 Keep an extra red stone with you to create a flashing red torch. To do this, you will need another red stone.

Method 2 of 2: Flashing Red Torch

1. 1 Find the wall. Place the torch on the wall, not on the floor. Find a spot where your torch will be. Place the torch on the tallest block on the wall for the flashing effect to work.
   • You will need access to where you place the torch, because in order to make a red torch blink, you need to add red dust to it after you have already placed it on the wall.
2. 2 Place the red torch on the wall on the top block. To do this, take it in your hands and click on the wall.
3. 3 Add red dust to it. Place the red dust on the block where the red torch is standing. The torch will start flashing.
4. 4 Surround the red dust with other blocks if you like. You can hide the red dust behind the wall structure if you don't like the look. Use any block of your choice.

Tips

• These torches can also be used as rather unstable but still working redstone clocks.
