Method 1 of 2: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari

  1. Load the page with the SWF file you want to download. Make sure the file is fully loaded on the website. This may take a while depending on the size of the file.
  2. Right click on the site and choose "View page source". You can also press Ctrl+YOU impressions. In a new tab you can now view the HTML code of the website.

    • The URL must be valid. Some sites have URLs with characters like /, which do not fully load. Make sure that the website you are using loads completely.
  7. Copy the full URL of the SWF file. Make sure the URL ends with ".swf". This way you can have the SWF file loaded immediately.
  8. Paste the URL in a new tab. Press ↵ Enter to load the SWF file. If you copied the correct URL, the file will now be able to load completely.
  9. Open your browser's menu to save the file. The best way to do this differs per browser:
    • Chrome - Click the Chrome Menu button (☰). Click on "Save Page As" and then choose the location where you want to save the SWF file.
    • Firefox and Internet Explorer - Click File and then "Save Page As". Now choose the location where you want to save the SWF file. If you can't open the File menu, press Alt.
    • Safari - Click on File and then on "Save As". Now choose the location where you want to save the SWF file.
  10. Open the SWF file. Once you have downloaded the file, simply drag and drop it into a browser to open it.

Method 2 of 2: Firefox

  1. Load the page with the SWF file you want to download. Make sure the file is fully loaded.
  2. Right click on the website and choose "View page source".
  3. Click on the "Media" tab. A list of all media files on the site will now open.
  4. Click on "Sort" to sort the list according to the type of file.
  5. Scroll down and find the Objects.
  6. Select the SWF file you want to download. The file name will probably have something to do with the contents of the file.
  7. Click on .Save as.... Now choose the location where you want to save the file.
  8. Open the SWF file. Once you have downloaded the file, simply drag and drop it into a browser to open it.
