Not having a PayPal account or not wanting to use one when shopping on eBay can be a lot of frustration. Fortunately, there are other ways to pay for purchases on eBay. Items can be paid for by credit, debit or gift cards. When you're done, confirm your purchase and pay for it.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Pay by credit or debit card

1. 1 Click on Buy Now. Select a product, and then click on the button with the text: "Buy now". This will take you to the page where you need to enter your billing information.
2. 2 Register an account (if necessary). If you are not registered on eBay, you can do so now by clicking on the Register tab. Enter basic information: your first and last name, address and phone number. If you do not want to register, click on the "Continue as a guest" button.
3. 3 Choose debit or credit card as your payment method. When you select an item, several payment methods will appear on the screen. Choose a debit or credit card as your payment method.
4. 4 Enter your billing information. You will be taken to a page where you need to enter your credit or debit card number. Also enter billing address, your name, card expiration date and card security code.
   • If the billing address and shipping address do not match, be sure to indicate where to ship the item so that it is not accidentally delivered to the wrong address.
5. 5 Complete your purchase. When you enter all the required details, you will be asked to check your order. Make sure all the information entered is correct and confirm the purchase. The item price will be charged to your credit or debit card.

Method 2 of 3: Pay with a Gift Card or Coupon

1. 1 Click on the "Pay Now" button. Select the product you want. Then click on the "Pay Now" or "Buy Now" button. If you won an item in the auction, you will have to click on the "Pay Now" or "Buy Now" button again.
2. 2 Click on the "Use Gift Card, Certificate or Coupon" button. Instead of paying with a debit / credit card or PayPal, click on the button to redeem a gift card, certificate or coupon. You will be immediately redirected to a page where you will need to enter a code.
3. 3 Enter a code. All gift cards, certificates and coupons have a code that must be entered on eBay. The code will either be sent by email or printed on the back of the card. Enter the code in the field provided and click "Redeem".
4. 4 Sign in to your account. Click on the "Apply" button and then on the "Next" button. You will be asked to log into your account if you have not already done so.
   • If you don't have your own account, order the product through your guest account. In this case, you will have to provide a shipping address.
5. 5 Complete your purchase. Check all details and make sure the delivery address, name, phone number and other information are correct. Then click on the "Confirm Payment" button to complete the order.

Method 3 of 3: Solving Common Problems

1. 1 Pay with your guest account if you've used PayPal before. eBay sometimes chooses PayPal as the default payment method if you've used it before.Sometimes it's easier to pay with a guest account and then enter your credit / debit card details.
2. 2 Try clearing your browser history. Sometimes eBay will continue to direct you to the PayPal checkout page even if you specified a different payment method. If this problem occurs, try clearing your browser and cookie history. This can solve the given problem.
3. 3 Do not link PayPal to your eBay account. If you don't want to use PayPal to pay for items on eBay, don't link one account to another. Linking a PayPal account to eBay may result in PayPal being used as the default payment method.
   • If you've already linked PayPal to your eBay account, try creating a new eBay account with a new email address.
