You usually need an Internet connection to watch YouTube videos, but you can also watch them offline using third-party apps. If you want to watch YouTube videos on your iPad, install a compatible app from the App Store to download the videos and run them offline.

Steps

1. 1 Go to the App Store page on your iPad.
2. 2 Type "video downloader" into your search and download a YouTube video compatible app. At the moment, IT experts recommend using the "Video Downloader Lite Super" application developed by George Young, as it is free of charge and does not contain ads or pop-ups.
   • If you use iTunes installed on your computer to download the app to iPad, you can find the Video Downloader Lite Super app page at the following URL: https://itunes.apple.com/am/app/video-downloader-lite-super/id661041542 ? mt = 8.
3. 3 When the installation is complete, launch the downloader app on your iPad. This will open the in-app browser, which will redirect you to the YouTube home page (https://www.youtube.com/).
   • If the site does not open after launching the application, enter the YouTube address in the address bar.
4. 4 Find the video you want to download to your iPad and click on it.
5. 5 Click on the play button to start the video. Depending on the iOS version on your iPad, you will see a disc icon or a “download” option at the bottom of the window.
6. 6 Select “save” or “download” to download the video to your iPad.
   • If nothing appears on the screen, press and hold the video player to access these options.
7. 7 Enter a title for the video and click the Save button. The YouTube video will be uploaded to the Files folder. This folder is located in the downloader application folder. You can enter it at any time, with or without an Internet connection.

Tips

• Use YouTube video downloaders if you want to keep any controversial or unique videos that you might later remove from YouTube. This way, you can save and enjoy your videos even after they are removed from YouTube.

Warnings

• To date, YouTube does not support or encourage the uploading of its videos for later viewing offline. Remember that some third-party downloader applications, including the same Video Downloader Lite Super, may stop working at any time or disappear completely from the App Store without any notifications or warnings.
