Home spa therapy is a great way to relieve the tension in your home after a tough and exhausting day. Most people only pay attention to their skin or nails, but hair also needs love and care! If you have dry, brittle, frizzy, or damaged hair, chances are it needs extra moisture. Hair spa treatments are a wonderful and soothing way to infuse your hair with the moisture it needs. Steps

Method 1 of 3: Massage the scalp

  1. 1 Prepare the oil. Heat 1–2 tablespoons (15–30 ml) coconut or olive oil in a small saucer. This can be done in the microwave or on the stove, but be careful not to get too hot. The oil should be warm enough but not too hot to be comfortable to touch.If you want a more extraordinary spa experience, try one of the following mixtures:

  3. 3 Wrap a wet, warm towel around your head. Dip a clean towel in hot water. Squeeze out excess water to keep it moist. Wrap a towel around your head and hair. If necessary, secure it with a hair clip.
  4. 4 Keep the towel wrapped around your head for 5-6 minutes. The heat will trap the oil and open the hair follicles. This will help the oil penetrate your hair and scalp and moisturize it.
    • If you have very dry hair, wait 15-20 minutes.
  5. 5 Rinse your hair with cool water. Use a mild shampoo to wash off the oil. If you have very dry hair, you can also apply conditioner, but a mask (described in the next section) will help to keep your hair moist enough.

Method 2 of 3: Apply the mask

  1. 1 Select and prepare a mask. You can use any mask you like. Purchased is also great, but one made at home will work even better. You can use your own recipe or try one of the following.

Method 3 of 3: Hair Mask Recipes

  1. 1 Use bananas and olive oil for a simple, deeply hydrating mask. In a blender, combine the banana and 1 tablespoon of olive oil (15 ml). Massage the mixture into your hair and scalp, then leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse off the mask with shampoo.
  2. 2 Combine honey and yogurt for a simple, deeply hydrating mask. Combine 2 tablespoons (30 grams) plain yogurt and 1 tablespoon (22.5 grams) honey. Apply the mixture to your hair and scalp and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with shampoo. Then use conditioner if necessary.
  3. 3 Apply a deeply moisturizing pumpkin-based mask. This mask is good to do in the fall. Mix 1 cup (225 grams) clean pumpkin pulp with 1-2 tablespoons (22.5 to 45 grams) of honey. Apply the mixture to your hair and scalp and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Then wash it off.
    • You may not have to use the entire mixture completely.

Pour ½ cup (175 grams) of honey into a small container.Add 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) olive oil and 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 grams) avocado or egg yolk, and mix thoroughly. Apply the mask to your hair, wait 20 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.
  5. 5 Make a regular moisturizing avocado mask. Place half of the peeled pitted avocado in a blender. Add one of the ingredients listed below and blend until the mixture is smooth. Apply the mask to hair and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse off with shampoo. For best results, repeat the process once a month. You will need:
    • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) argan oil, sour cream, or egg yolk to moisturize
    • 10 drops of rosemary essential oil for dry scalp;
    • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) apple cider vinegar to remove deposits on hair (deposits can form from a variety of hair products, from low-quality shampoos to mousses and gels).
  6. 6 Use eggs to make a simple moisturizing mask. Pour ½ cup (120 ml) egg yolks and whites individually or whole eggs into a container. Beat the eggs until the mixture is smooth and then apply to your hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash off cool water. Here's what you need to use (and how often), depending on your hair type:
    • normal hair: about 2 whole eggs monthly;
    • oily hair: about 4 egg whites twice a month;
    • dry hair: about 6 egg yolks monthly.

Tips

  • Tidy up your bathroom ahead of time. A clean bathroom is much more relaxing than a dirty one!
  • Lushe dim the lights and light the candles. Play your favorite music.
  • You can repeat the spa treatment every month.
  • Some masks can be used more than once a month. In this case, apply only the mask and skip the spa procedure.
  • Save time preparing the mask while the towel is wrapped around your head.
  • Do not wash your hair with hot water. Hot water is very damaging to hair.
