1 Pour 1/2 cup (120 ml) glitter glue into a bowl. If you don't have one, take a clear glue and add about a teaspoon of glitter to it.To recolor the glue to a different color, add 1 to 2 drops of liquid watercolor paint, liquid food coloring, or gel coloring.- White PVA glue is also suitable for this method. Add about a teaspoon of glitter to it. If you want to brighten it up, add a few drops of liquid watercolor paint, liquid food coloring, or gel coloring.

Method 2 of 2: Glue and Borax
1 Mix 240 milliliters (1 cup) of water with a teaspoon of borax. Set the solution aside for now. You will need glitter glue for this method, but white PVA glue will work as well. Just reduce the borax to half a teaspoon and the water to 60 milliliters (¼ cup).
2 Mix 1 teaspoon (15 ml) water with 120 ml (1/2 cup) glitter glue. This will make the slime more slippery and sticky. If you don't have glitter glue, make your own. To do this, mix one teaspoon of fine glitter with clear glue. To change the color of the glue, add a few drops of liquid watercolor paint, liquid food coloring, or gel coloring.
- If you want to use PVA glue, add about a teaspoon of tiny decorative sequins. If you wish, repaint the glue in a different color, but keep in mind that the final color will be very faint.
3 Stir the borax solution with the glue mixture. The slime will almost immediately gather into a ball. After some time, you will most likely have to knead the slime with your hands and collect it in a pile.
4 Remove the slime from the bowl and knead again. Once the slime has gathered into a lump, remove it from the bowl. Any excess liquid will remain in the bowl. Re-knead the slime outside the bowl.
- Do not leave the slime in the borax solution for a long time, otherwise it will harden strongly.
- If the slime is too runny, return it to the bowl of borax and wait until you are satisfied with the consistency.
5 Play with the slime, and when you're done, put it in an airtight container. Kids of all ages just love to play with the sticky and slippery slime. It is also ideal for playing with young children. When you play enough, place the slime in an airtight container and leave it in a cool, dry place.
Tips
- Instead of using standard thick sequins, use decorative sequins that are sold at a craft store.
- To make the slime more shiny, add some subtle sequins, curly sequins, or confetti.
- To paint clear or white glue, add liquid watercolor paint, liquid food coloring, or gel coloring.
- If the slime is too sticky, add more liquid starch or a solution of borax and water.
- If the slime is too runny, add more glue.
- Add a few drops of essential oil to make the slime smell good.
- Divide the slime into small containers and give them away as gifts!
- A standard bottle of PVA glue contains about 120 milliliters of glue.
- Borax and liquid starch can be found in the household chemicals section of your local grocery store or supermarket.
- Let your child help you mix the slime!
Warnings
- Do not drop the slime on furniture or fabric.
- Slime is inedible. If you give it as a toy to a small child, keep your eyes on it.
- While the slime is fun to play with, try not to leave young children unattended.
