Skype conferencing allows you to have a conversation with three or more people at the same time. It can help you keep in touch with people you can't meet in person, as well as communicate with family or friends who live in different places. Skype conferencing is available on platforms such as PC and Mac, iPhone and iPad, and Android.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: PC or Mac

1. 1 Check your internet connection. Group calls are quite demanding on the Internet speed, so we recommend getting a high-speed connection.
   • If you have a slow Internet connection but can access your router, connect your computer to the Ethernet port on the router using a network cable for a more stable connection.
2. 2 Start Skype.
3. 3 Sign in to skype using your username and password.
4. 4 Tap a recent conversation or a contact's name. This will open the corresponding conversation to which more people can be added.
   • You can also click on the plus sign in the toolbar, above the Contacts and Recent sections. This will create a new conversation.
5. 5 Click on the icon with a picture of a person with a plus sign. It is located in the upper right corner of the current conversation. In the menu that opens, you can add new participants to the conversation.
6. 6 Click on contacts to add them to the group. To search for specific people, enter their names.
   • If you decide to add participants from one conversation to another group, then the rest of the contacts in the list will be in the current conversation.
7. 7 Add as many contacts as you like. Skype supports voice chat for up to 25 people (including you).
   • Only 10 people can actively participate in a video call.
8. 8 Click Call or Video Call to start the conference call. Skype will start dialing to all members of the group.
9. 9 To end the conversation, press the button in the form of a red telephone receiver. Congratulations, you have successfully completed your Skype conference call!

Method 2 of 3: iPhone or iPad

1. 1 Start Skype.
   • If you haven't downloaded the Skype app yet, it's free to download from the Apple Store.
2. 2 Sign in to skype using your username and password. Use the same password you used to sign in to your account on your computer.
3. 3 Click on the "+" button in the upper right corner of the screen. This will allow you to create a new conversation.
4. 4 Add contacts from the list to the conversation by clicking on their names. They will be automatically added to the conversation.
   • You can add up to 25 people to a group call (including you), but only 6 of them will be able to appear on the video.
   • You can also add people to an ongoing call by clicking on the names at the top of the screen and then selecting the Add Participants option from the menu that appears.
5. 5 Click "Call" in the upper right corner of the group window. After that, Skype will start dialing the members of your group.
   • To initiate a video call, click on the video camera icon.
6. 6 To end the conversation, press the button in the form of a red telephone receiver. Congratulations, you have successfully completed your Skype conference call!

Method 3 of 3: Android

1. 1 Start Skype.
   • If you haven't downloaded the Skype app yet, you can do it completely free of charge in the Google Play Store.
2. 2 Sign in to skype using your username and password. Use the same password you used to sign in to your account on your computer.
3. 3 Click on the "+" button in the upper right corner of the screen. This will open the call menu.
4. 4 Select "Voice Call". This will take you to the list of contacts, where you can start searching for individual contacts.
5. 5 Enter the contact's name. To start a group call, you need to find the contact you want and dial it.
6. 6 Click "Call" in the upper right corner of the screen. To initiate a video call, click on the video camera icon.
7. 7 When the conversation starts, click the Add button. Enter the names of other contacts, and then tap them to add them to the conversation.
   • Skype on Android supports voice chat for up to 25 people (including you).
8. 8 To end the conversation, press the button in the form of a red telephone receiver. Congratulations, you have successfully completed your Skype conference call!

Tips

• The same Skype account can be used completely free of charge on both your computer and your mobile phone.
• Skype allows you to make calls to other platforms. That is, a Skype on Android user can set up a video call with a Skype user on an iPhone, and vice versa.

Warnings

• You may have technical problems (for example, dropped calls) if one of the participants in the call has an old version of Skype.
