This article will show you how to determine if you have been blocked on Facebook Messenger. While Facebook's privacy policy does not allow Facebook to divulge this information, there are still a few signs that can tell you if your messages are being blocked.

Method 1 of 2: On a phone or tablet

1. 1 Open Facebook Messenger. Find on the desktop (iPhone iPad) or in the application bar (Android) the icon in the form of a blue text cloud with a white lightning inside.
   • Blocking a user's posts is not the same as blocking them on Facebook. Blocking messages does not remove your "friends" status, leaving you the option to interact with each other on Facebook. Moreover, the blocking can be canceled at any time.
2. 2 Enter your friend's name in the search box at the top of the screen. A list of names is displayed as prompted.
3. 3 Tap a friend's name in the list of results to open a chat with that person.
4. 4 Enter your message in the text box at the bottom of the chat.
5. 5 Tap the send message icon, which looks like a paper airplane. If a message appears on the screen with the text: "This person is not receiving messages from you at the moment," then this person has blocked your messages, disabled their Facebook account, or completely blocked you on Facebook.
   • If no error appears, then the messages are reaching the addressee. Perhaps he just hadn't read them yet.
6. 6 Find out what the user did:disabled my account or blocked you. If you receive an error message, all you have to do is find out if his Facebook profile looks different.
   • Open Facebook (blue icon with a white "f" on your desktop) and then search for the user using a search engine. If the profile search does not return any results, then this person has either disabled their account or completely blocked you. If your profile appears in search results, then the user only blocked your posts.
   • If you can't find a profile at all, there is only one way to find out if you have really been blocked, and that is to ask a mutual friend to look at the profile you are interested in. If a mutual friend can see the profile, then the user has blocked your Facebook account.

Method 2 of 2: On the computer

1. 1 Go to the page: https://www.messenger.com. You can use any browser to access Facebook Messenger on your computer.

2. 2 Log in to your account. If you are already signed in, you will see a list of recent conversations. Otherwise, click "Continue as (your name)" or enter your login credentials.
3. 3 Enter your username in the search box in the upper left corner of the screen. A list of contacts will appear.
4. 4 Click on a person's name in the list of results to open a chat with that person.
5. 5 Enter your message in the text box at the bottom of the screen.
6. 6 Click on ↵ Enter Click on ⏎ Return. If an alert appears in the chat window (where you typed a message) with the text: "This person is not receiving messages from you now," then this person has blocked your messages, disabled his account or completely blocked you on Facebook.
