It's too easy to accidentally knock off a key on a laptop, but it's almost impossible to get it back without ruining the almost microscopic details. In this article, you will learn how to restore a lost key.

Steps

1. 1 Start with the pieces, take a good look at them. Find small bumps on them and assemble according to the picture.
2. 2 Pay attention to the location of the bulges on the semicircular part. Slip them under the metal tabs on the laptop (see picture).
3. 3 Thread the oval piece through the center of the semicircular piece.
4. 4 Hook the bulges of the round piece under the hooks on the laptop.
5. 5 Insert the bumps of the round part into the grooves of the semicircular part and click.
6. 6 Please note that all parts are raised slightly. At this point, the two parts are connected, but if done correctly, they will not lie flat, but will be slightly raised above the surface of the laptop.
7. 7 Place the key right side up over the round and oval pieces. Press the right side first (you will hear a click) and then the left side.
8. 8 Replace the key.
9. 9 That's all! The key is in place.

Tips

• It is worth turning off your computer before doing all this, so as not to make mistakes in open applications.
• Note that you are grounded by placing one hand on the metal part of the laptop.
• The described method will work for HP Pavilion laptops as well.
• It's easier to remove the semicircular piece and attach the round piece to it before attaching both to the keyboard.
• If you break the plastic parts of a very useful key, you can take them from a less common one, but this should be done very carefully.
• Latitude D800 is arranged a little differently. It is best to disassemble another key and see how it is assembled.
• The long spacebar also has a long metal semicircular piece. The two ends of the wire go into the slots, after which you can try to put the space bar on two frames (the space bar has two sets of frames).
