1 Take a mug. Traditionally, cocoa is drunk from a mug, but any cup will work if you have nothing else. You need to know the capacity of the mug. Basically it is 300 ml, but some are more or less (for example, 240 ml each).Tips
- Add marshmallows, whipped cream, and some grated chocolate. If you have added too much cocoa powder, add more milk.
- If desired, you can also add a generous dose of whipped cream.
- Try mixing in mint extract for a winter flavor.
- Put the marshmallow if you like it. If you consider yourself a strict vegetarian, then buy vegan marshmallows at your health food store.
- You can save a little time by heating the milk (or water) while making the cocoa paste. The least likely to overboil plain milk is to put it in the microwave. The powder dissolves much more easily in hot milk.
- Most of the antioxidants found in chocolate actually come from cocoa, so enjoy it without a doubt.
- Try pouring coffee instead of milk. And if you're really brave, add cinnamon and cayenne pepper for Mayan Hot Chocolate!
- Vegetarians and vegans can replace regular milk with soy, rice, oatmeal, or other milk. Vanilla soy milk will add a pleasant flavor if it is of good quality.
- If desired, you can sprinkle cinnamon or an extra layer of cocoa powder on top.
- Do not add sugar if you like the strong bitter taste of cocoa. He, of course, is not for everybody, but it will be really good if you get used to it.
- You can add even more cocoa to your taste.
- If you are making hot chocolate using a kettle instead of a microwave, then be aware that some people prefer to pour hot water directly into the cocoa powder and then add milk; this helps to get rid of the "burnt" milk smell. This is a personal choice, you may not even notice the difference. Stir well, whether you are using milk or water.
Warnings
- If you are lactose intolerant, use soy milk or lactose-free milk.
- Remove the spoon before placing the cup in the microwave.
- Make sure the mug is microwave immune.
- Be careful when pouring boiling water.
- Do not overheat the mixture. Also watch out for the cocoa in the last 20 seconds of preheating (see above).
- Be careful when taking the first sip of the mug as it can be hot.
