Learn how to rotate a video clip in Adobe Premiere Pro to select the desired orientation and aspect ratio in this article.

Steps

1. 1 Start a new or open an existing project in Adobe Premiere Pro. To do this, double-click on the purple application icon with the letters “Pr»And then click on File on the menu bar at the top of the screen.
   • Click on Createto start a new project, or Open project ... - to open an existing project.
   • If the video you want to rotate is not already in the project, then it needs to be imported. To do this, click on the menu Fileand then select the option Import….
2. 2 Click and drag the video you want to rotate from the Project tab onto the timeline.
3. 3 Click on a video to select it.
4. 4 Click on the tab Effect controls at the top left of the window.
5. 5 Press Movement at the top of the Effect Controls menu.
6. 6 Press Turn approximately in the middle of the menu.
7. 7 Enter the angle of rotation. Enter the number to the right of the option Turn.
   • To rotate the video upside down, enter "180".
   • To rotate the video from vertical to horizontal, enter "90" to rotate clockwise and "270" to rotate counterclockwise.
     • This rotation will cause part of the image to disappear and black bars will appear on the clip. To fix this, change the aspect ratio:
     • Press Episode on the menu bar, and then select Episode settings at the top of the menu.
     • Change the numbers in the Frame Size boxes. These fields are located in the "Videos" section. For example, if Vertical is 1920 and Horizontal is 1080, enter 1080 for Vertical and 1920 for Horizontal.
     • Click on OKand then one more time OK.
   • You have successfully rotated the video and can now edit it or merge it with other videos.
