Subscribing to Facebook user updates will allow you to see public updates and posts by a particular user in your news feed. Follow has recently replaced Follow, but it works the same way. You can subscribe to users' updates directly from their pages, or even enable the subscription feature on your own profile so others can follow your public updates.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Method One: Follow Facebook Profile

1. 1 Go to Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/.
2. 2 Log into your Facebook account using your email and password.
3. 3 Enter the name of the person or profile you want to subscribe to in the search box at the top of your Facebook session.
4. 4 Click on the profile you want to subscribe to when it appears in the search results. The profile of that particular user will open on your screen.
5. 5 Click on the “Subscribe” button located at the top of the user's profile. The “Subscribe” button will be available only if the user has enabled this function in their profile settings.
   • If there is a Subscribe button but is not available, instead click on Like to follow the person's updates.
6. 6 Click on “Home” at the top of your Facebook session. You will now see updates and posts from a person or organization in your news feed.

Method 2 of 2: Method Two: Enabling the Subscription Feature for Your Profile

1. 1 Go to Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/.
2. 2 Log in to your Facebook profile with your email and password.
3. 3 Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner of your Facebook session and select “Settings.”
4. 4 Click on “Subscribers” in the left sidebar of Page Settings.
5. 5 Next to the field “You can subscribe to my updates” put “Everyone”. Now any Facebook user, whether you are a friend or not, can subscribe to your updates.

Tips

• You can unsubscribe from updates at any time by returning to your profile page, hovering over “Subscriptions” and clicking this button. If you've subscribed to your organization page updates, instead hover your cursor over Like and select Dislike.
• Most popular and well-known public figures and organizations, such as celebrities, politicians and businesses, have “Follow” enabled on their Facebook profile. Keep your finger on the pulse of the latest news and updates, including your favorite users, by finding their pages and following their updates on Facebook.
• All users who are friends are subscribed to updates by default. If you no longer want a specific user to be subscribed to your updates, then you can block a specific user from the Security menu.

Warnings

• Remember that other Facebook users can see the people and organizations you follow if your profile is publicly available. If you don't want specific users, such as employers, to see which updates you follow, you can change your privacy settings.
