You can connect your Xbox 360 or Xbox One console to two TVs (or monitors) without using a cable splitter. The methods described here will result in the same picture being displayed on both screens, but it is convenient to play games in a different room when the Xbox 360 is connected to a TV or Xbox One is connected to a Windows 10 computer. The original Xbox does not display on two screens. without using a splitter.

Steps

Method 1 of 3: Composite Cables (Xbox 360)

1. 1 Determine your Xbox 360 model. There are three models of the Xbox 360: Original, Slim, and E. Some older Xbox 360 models do not have HDMI connectors, but thin and E models do. All models have a composite connector, which consists of three connectors in red, white and yellow. This method does not apply to Xbox One.
2. 2 Connect the appropriate cable to the Xbox 360 video output. Insert the HDMI male connector of the flat composite cable into the appropriate connector, or use the composite / component combo cable that came with older models.
   • Connect the HDMI connector of the flat composite cable to the corresponding connector on the console.
   • Use the composite / component combo cable that comes with older models. This cable has a switch (at the end of the cable that connects to the game console) that needs to be set to the "TV" position. In this case, the sound will be output to only one TV. You cannot use composite and component video cables separately.
3. 3 Connect the yellow plug of the composite cable to the video input of your device. Use a TV or monitor with a composite connector. To output audio to this unit, connect the red and white plugs of the composite cable to this unit.
4. 4 Connect the HD image cable to the video input of the device. If your TV or monitor has an HDMI connector, connect an HDMI cable to it. When using a composite / component combo cable, connect the red, blue and green plugs to the component jack.
   • The red and white plugs through which the audio signal is supplied are not needed in the case of an HDMI cable.
   • To output audio using a component cable, connect the red and white plugs to the audio input of your TV or monitor.
5. 5 Turn on your TVs or monitors and set them to receive a signal from the Xbox 360. Each monitor or TV is configured to receive video signals depending on the connector used to which the video cable is connected. Select “AV” mode if using a composite connector, or “Component” mode if using a composite connector, or switch to “HDMI” mode if using an HDMI cable.
6. 6 Turn on your Xbox 360. Both TVs or monitors will display an image from the game console; if not, check that the appropriate cables are connected correctly and securely. If the screens are still blank, the TVs or monitors are not compatible with the type of cable you are using. Use another TV or monitor that supports video transmission from the same cable.

Method 2 of 3: Windows 10 PC (Xbox One)

1. 1 Check the system requirements. To use this method, you must have an Xbox One and a Windows 10 PC that meets certain system requirements. It is recommended to use a wired connection, but this condition is not required. A Windows 10 computer or laptop can be connected to a TV using a VGA cable or HDMI cable.
   • 2 GB of RAM, 1.5 GHz or faster processor, wired connection via Ethernet cable or wireless (802.11 N / AC).
2. 2 Connect your Xbox One or Xbox 360 controller to your computer. To connect an Xbox One controller, you need an Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 or a USB to microUSB cable. To connect to a wired or wireless Xbox 360 controller, use the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter for your Windows PC.
3. 3 On Xbox One, turn on game streaming to your Windows 10 PC. The Xbox 360 does not have this mode (so this method does not apply to the Xbox 360). Turn on your Xbox One, click Settings - Preferences, and enable the Allow game streaming to other devices option. Next, activate the SmartGlass connection; to do this, check the "From any SmartGlass device" option or the "Only from profiles signed in on this Xbox" option.
4. 4 On your Windows 10 PC, open the Xbox app and sign in. To do this, click Start (on the taskbar at the bottom left of your screen) and then click on the Xbox app icon. Sign in to your Xbox Gamertag account, which is the exact equivalent of your Xbox One account.
5. 5 Connect your PC to Xbox One. In the left pane (on your computer monitor), click Connect. The app will find Xbox One consoles that are connected to the same network. Once you've found your console, select the system to stream your game from.
6. 6 Stream the game to your Windows 10 computer. With your Xbox One connected to your computer, click Stream.

Method 3 of 3: Cable Splitter (Any Xbox Model)

1. 1 Determine which connection type to use. You only need one type of console video output. This method works on any Xbox model, including the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Keep in mind that the original Xbox and some older Xbox 360s do not have an HDMI connector (only Xbox One has this connector).
2. 2 Buy matching cables and cable splitter. The cable splitter will take the video signal from the console and send it to two TVs or monitors. Depending on the type of cable splitter, you may need to purchase two cables to connect it to your TVs or monitors.
3. 3 Connect the splitter to the video output of your console. This method assumes the use of only one video output of the game console.
4. 4 Connect the splitter to both TVs or monitors and turn them on. You may need two cables to connect the splitter to TVs or monitors. Set each monitor or TV to receive video signal depending on the cable used (composite, component or HDMI). Both TVs will use the same connection type.
5. 5 Turn on your Xbox. Both TVs or monitors will display an image from the game console; if not, check that the appropriate cables are connected correctly and securely.

Tips

• If you need to display different pictures on the two screens to play a multiplayer game, connect one of the consoles to your network using System Link or Xbox Live (whichever software supports).
