It is very important to clean the pipe. Do this every month. When you play, food debris swells inside the pipe, creating a build-up and creating a breeding ground for bacteria. The sound becomes dull, not distinct, in general, just disgusting. After completing the steps indicated in this article, you will clean the pipe qualitatively, removing everything unnecessary from it.

Steps

  1. 1 Fill the bathroom with warm, soapy water.
  2. 2 Place a towel on the bottom of the bathroom to avoid scratching.
  3. 3 Remove the mouthpiece and set it aside.
  4. 4 To flush the pipe, turn on the tap with warm water and place the socket under the stream. Thus, fine clogging will be removed and further cleaning of the pipe metal with a special brush will be simplified.
  5. 5 Detach all crowns and place in the bathroom.
  6. 6 Take out all three valves. Remember their location if they are not numbered. This is very important, so check the numbering additionally before mixing them. If the valves are still numbered, keep them in the correct position during assembly. Otherwise, do not mix the valves, but set them aside in the correct order.
  7. 7 Submerge the pipe for 5-10 minutes in a tub of warm water, adding extra soap.
  8. 8 While the pipe is in the water, rinse the mouthpiece with very hot soapy water. Clean the mouthpiece with a cloth and soap. Also, if you have a mouthpiece brush, brush the inside of it to remove any remaining dirt.
  9. 9 Then hold the mouthpiece in hot water.
  10. 10 Go back to cleaning the pipe. Pass a special serpentine brush through each crown, and directly through the pipe.
  11. 11 Immerse one valve in water without deepening its upper part, as its felt element can be destroyed by water. Brush all 3 valve holes to remove build-up of dirt. Do the same for each valve.
  12. 12 Use a washcloth and soap to more thoroughly wash the outside of the pipe and the inside of the socket.
  13. 13 Start assembling the pipe, taking turns taking its individual parts out of the water. Place them on a towel and wipe dry with a rag.
  14. 14 Use special crown lubricant. Lubricate each of the crowns with it so that it does not get stuck when playing and put it back on the pipe.
  15. 15 Wipe the valves, and then lubricate each of them with a special liquid valve grease. Put them back on the pipe in the correct order.
  16. 16 When all the crowns and valves are assembled, wipe them one last time with a rag and remove any remaining moisture from the condensate drain key.
  17. 17 Rub the pipe with a polishing cloth until it is shiny.
  18. 18 At the very end, take the mouthpiece out of the water, dry it and place it back on the pipe. You are now ready to play!

Tips

  • While cleaning the pipe, pay attention to the parts that need to be replaced. For example, springs inside valves, felt valve element, plugs for condensate drain keys
  • Reattach the valves well, otherwise the pipe will sound bad.
  • Check that all parts are working properly after cleaning the tool.
  • Remove all tissue particles from the pipe (if any) before immersion in water.
  • Check the pipe for dents that could obstruct air flow and cause tonal imbalances.
  • In the early stages, do not immerse the crowns in the water.
  • If you don't have a special brush for your mouthpiece, you can use a toothbrush to clean it.

Warnings

  • If too hot water is used to wash the pipe, its coating may peel off (does not apply to the mouthpiece). So, choose the right water temperature, not hot or cold.
  • To avoid scratching the outside of the pipe, do not clean it with a mouthpiece brush or a snake pipe brush.
  • Place a towel on the bottom of the bathroom to avoid scratching
  • Do not use any home care products when cleaning the pipe.
