Civilization Revolution is an addicting competitive strategy game where you control a civilization trying to bring it to world domination using one of 4 available skins. This article will tell you how to win.

Steps

  1. 1 Before starting, choose a civilization that suits your playstyle. Ask yourself - will the bonuses of this civilization help you achieve the victory you want? Can you take advantage of those bonuses?
  2. 2 Start the game.
  3. 3 Now take the settler to the best cage for building a city. Such a cell will be a cell + 4 / + 4 / + 4 (food, production, trade). It is good to start where there are 2 meadow tiles, 3 forest tiles, and 2 sea tiles.
    • Of course, rivers and resources should be considered when locating a city too - they can give you tons of food, production and trade in the future!
    • Do not settle in the neighborhood of mountains and hills, unless there is iron (which will give you a powerful bonus in the future) or gold or diamonds (the last two resources will bring you a lot of money). Nevertheless, building a city ON a hill is always good, the bonus to defense and visibility is never superfluous. Accordingly, if you build a city next to a hill, then the enemy attacking from that hill will receive a bonus to the attack.
  4. 4 When you create your first city, build 2-3 warriors to scout the map, discover city-states, natural wonders and, of course, to defend against the barbarians.
  5. 5 If you find an enemy capital before 2500 BC, then create an army (a few warriors will come in handy here) and ATTACK! If you are more fortunate than your opponent, then you will have one more city.
  6. 6 To get an early advantage, try to build ships as early as possible. This will allow you to explore the ocean looking for islands and take them first.
  7. 7 After a couple of moves, the question will arise of what to explore next.
    • If you want to get rid of enemies early, then study "Horseriding", after that - "Feudalism".
    • If you want to focus on urban development then teach Granary, Masonry, Irrigation. The main thing is to study “Masonry” and “Irrigation” first - they will give you a free wall (+ 100% city defense) and one citizen in each city.
    • If scientific excellence is your thing, teach Alphabet, Writing, Literacy. This will lead you to the math, which will allow you to build catapults. Besides, "Alphabet" will let you build libraries, and they need to be built as soon as possible - +2 to science on the road does not lie. “Writing” will give you a spy and the ability to create them, and if you learn “Literacy” first, you will have +1 science in each city.
    • If you like a balanced army, then teach “Bronze Working”, “Iron Working”. The first technology will give you archers and access to the Colossus of Rhodes (Wonder of the World), which will double the trade routes in the city and turn it into a forge of discovery, which, together with the library, will allow you to leave other civilizations behind in terms of science. In addition, the “Bronze Working” will also give you access to the barracks, which will allow you to upgrade units to veterans (+ 50% to attack and defense). Iron Working, in turn, is the creation of legions and the ability to process sources of iron. However, if the sources of iron are not visible, then it is better to skip this technology and study "Alphabet".
  8. 8 When you have 100 gold, which will give you a free settler, think about which city you want to build and where.
    • Balanced City: Build where there is easy access to food, trade and production. Preferably close to a river and resources. These cities are flexible, balanced and suitable for any player.
    • Trade City: Build where there are 4 or more sea tiles or where there are 4 or more food. Then quickly build libraries or markets in that city to double the supply of science or gold, respectively. You yourself understand what is +8 science / gold per turn, and what is +16! If you have a democracy, then it will all be +24.
    • Production City: Frankly speaking, it is not advised to do this at the beginning of the game, such cities are most effective in the mid-to-late game. After examining “Bronze Working” and “Iron Working”, you need to choose a place to build a city where there are at least 2 meadow cells (or 1 meadow cell and food resource) and a couple of hills in the neighborhood. Protect such cities and those neighboring hills like the apple of your eye, remember about the bonus to attack from the hills! Then research the “Construction” technology to get a free workshop (+2 hill production) and then immediately start building barracks to start building your invincible army.
    • Alternatively, at the end of the game, when you learn the technology for creating a railroad, you can build a city next to the mountains and then create a mine, and through it a factory. If a city owns 3 cells of mountains (3 production in total) with iron mines (already 15 production in total), and in the city itself there is a factory (15x2), then such a city will bring you 30 production per turn (45 if you play as America either accepted communism, or 67 if you are an American communist!) Now you can build countless legions in such a city.
  9. 9 Once you've built your second city, study the Code of Laws, switch to the Republican system, and start building new cities as you expand your empire. A good strategy is to immediately build a settler in each new city and build a new city with that settler, which will make your development more even.
  10. 10 Then build either a library or a market in each city. This will keep you in the first place in terms of technology and receive bonuses for discovering a particular technology first. So, for example, it will be useful to be the first to open “Irringation” (+1 citizen in each city), “Industrialization” (+5 gold in each city), Corporation (+5 gold in each city). The creation of markets is useful with a large influx of gold, which will allow you to buy units and buildings, build roads, or become the key to your economic victory.
  11. 11 When a market or library is built, use the surrounding tiles to your advantage and build new buildings to increase food, production, science, technology in the city.
  12. 12 At this point, you should be well ahead of other civilizations in science, so now you can start preparing to capture enemy cities.
    • Study “Masonry”, “Writing”, “Mathematics” to unlock an early siege weapon - catapults. They have 4 attacks and are very useful against archers in the early stages.
    • Explore Monarchy, Feudalism, Religion to discover knights and fundamentalism. The knights also have 4 attacks, but they move 2 cells further, which makes them more mobile. Fundamentalism, in turn, is +1 attack for each unit, so your armies of knights will have 15 attacks. Alas, fundamentalism degrades the work of libraries and universities.
    • Explore Iron Working, University, Metallurgy, Steam Power, Combustion to unlock cannons and tanks. The cannons that metallurgy unlocks are useful from the middle to the end of the game. They have 6 attacks! Tanks are an extremely useful unit in the last part of the game, they have 10 attacks and 2 movements. They should form the backbone of your army in the modern age.
  13. 13 After capturing most of the enemy cities, you should have enough resources to work your way to your chosen victory type. Wars and conquest? Economic dominance? A cultural victory? Building a spaceship? You decide!

Tips

  • If you have 1 unused great engineer in the modern era, build the Internet wonder for them. This will double your gold, which will be useful anytime, anywhere.
  • Remember, in online games, more often than not, the matter ends with a military victory. However, if “Stalemate” is studied, then an economic victory in the modern era is possible.
  • When playing online, crush enemies as early as possible, for they will do the same to you.
  • Explore the map and look for artifacts, for they can give you additional bonuses. For example, “City of Atlantis” is a free tech, and “Knight Templar” is a free powerful unit.
  • Remember that you need to choose a civilization for your style of play, this is very important!
  • If you decide to win not through war, then destroy all nations except one, leaving only the capital (and no other cities), place troops next to it and, if this nation declares war on you, arrange a blockade, do not attack it. However, airplanes can also be used.
  • Want to kill everyone? Create the "Manhattan Project" and build nuclear weapons.
  • Remember, each nation has its own special abilities.
  • Always use great writers, painters and entertainers, don't leave them in cities. This will give you a +1 bonus to the population of each city, which is a very powerful and useful bonus.
  • It is desirable that by the year 0 you have 10 cities. The more cities there are, the easier it is to defeat - and vice versa.

Warnings

  • When you are close to victory, everyone will declare war on you.
  • Defend the city, barbarians are not a joke, but a terrible threat.
  • The enemy armies are always huge. Defend your cities!
