Many websites and other business ventures give their customers the option to subscribe to a magazine or other recurring service using the PayPal subscription option. PayPal will automatically generate a payment transaction on a monthly basis, or at the end of each specific time period, which will charge your account for your subscription. In some cases, the account may belong to a different company, and therefore payment is automatically made through PayPal. This situation can be confusing when you want to cancel your PayPal subscription. This article will provide you with some practical tips that you can take to stop making an automatic payment.

Method 1 of 2: Cancel your subscription through the PayPal website

1. 1 Sign in to your PayPal account.
2. 2 Click on the "History" link in the "My Account" tab at the top of the page.
3. 3 Start your search. Change the date to start searching from a point before the start of your subscription.
4. 4 Use the drop-down filter menu to select "Subscriptions".
5. 5 Click on the Details link or the name of the subscription you want to cancel.
6. 6 Depending on the type of subscription page you are on, you will have several ways to cancel it:
   • If available, click on the 'Cancel Profile' link that appears in the upper left corner of the screen under the seller's name.
   • If available, click on the "Cancel Subscription" button. It is displayed at the bottom of the page.
7. 7 Confirm your choice by clicking on the "Cancel Profile" or "Cancel Subscription" button respectively.

Method 2 of 2: Go to the merchant website to cancel your subscription

1. 1 Determine if you have the option to cancel your PayPal subscription through a vendor offering a service or product. Cancellation policies vary from site to site, so you may have to visit a web site looking for this information.
   • Check the FAQ or Help sections of the website to see if there are details on how to unsubscribe.
   • Contact the site's support team via email, online form or online chat and ask for help.

• You can change the payment method for your subscription on the PayPal website if you simply wish to pay through a different account. Take a look at the Pay List tab in the Financial Information section of your PayPal profile, look for the merchant's name there and try to find an option to change the Funding Source.
