1 Lay out the diagram in front of youthat you want to weave. Learn and understand how to read it. The number of horizontal rows will always be even.
  • 2 Read the first of the vertical rows in a zigzag pattern. For clarity, check the picture. The first row is marked in lilac.
  • 3 Take the first beads the desired colors and string them on a thread (in our example, lilac beads, numbered from 1 to 10).
  • 4 Read the second vertical row according to the numbers in the picture (red from 11 to 15).
  • 5 Take the first bead of the second row and string it on a thread following the ten already strung.
  • 6 Pass the needle through the second from the top bead of the first row (in the diagram it is number 9).
  • 7 Tighten it tight so that the last bead of the first vertical row and the first bead of the second row are at the same level horizontally above the one into which you passed the thread in the previous step.
  • 8 String the second bead of the second row.
  • 9 Pass the needle through the fourth bead from the top of the first row (number 7 in the diagram). Continue to lower in the same pattern until the end of the second row (threading the needle, respectively, into beads numbered 5, 3 and 1).
  • 10 Begin third vertical row in exactly the same way, but now read the diagram from bottom to top (in the picture these are blue beads numbered from 21 to 25).
  • 11 Keep going the same way until you finish the whole pattern.
  • 12 Thread the thread through the woven fabric zigzag back to secure. Then cut the thread.
  • 13 Ready!
  • Tips

    • Use a thin needle with an eye just wide enough to thread the thread, but not wider.
    • Use beads of the same size to make the braided fabric straight.
    • For this project, you will need a thin but strong thread. Embroidery threads usually work well for beading.
    • It is better to cut a thread that is too long than too short. It's bad if the thread ends in the middle of your piece.
    • Find out what the different colors represent if you want to weave a pattern with meaning. Ready-made schemes can be found on the Internet.

    Warnings

    • During the threading process, the thread may become knotted. If this happens, do not pull the thread. Instead, gently untangle the knot with the point of your needle.
