Forgot your password from your NTS smartphone? Never mind, Android has a built-in way to bypass the lock screen, assuming you have a Google account set up. If there is no account, then only a rollback to the factory settings will help you. In any case, you can get access to your smartphone in a matter of minutes.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Sign in with a Google Account

1. 1 Enter your PIN or pattern five times. To be able to bypass the lock, you need to enter the password 5 times, after which the device will be locked, and you will be prompted to enter using a different method.
2. 2 Click on “Forgot your password?”Or“ Forgot your pattern? ”. Next, the login screen for the Google account associated with the locked device will appear.
   • If you are a Verizon customer, this method will not work. You will have 10 attempts to enter the correct password, after which the data on the phone will be erased.This blocking cannot be bypassed with a Google account.
3. 3 Enter your Google account details. More precisely, enter your username and password - but exactly from the account that was used for setup when you turned on the phone for the first time. If you do not remember the password, recover it using your computer on the Google website.
   • Of course, you need a WiFi or mobile internet connection. You cannot log into your Google account without going online. If Airplane mode is activated, press and hold the power button until the corresponding menu appears, in which you need to turn off Airplane mode.
4. 4 Set a new password. Once logged in, set a new screen lock password for your device so you can finally unlock it. To do this, go to the settings menu, then to the "Security" section. In this menu, you can set a new password, PIN or pattern.

Method 2 of 2: Factory Reset

1. 1 Turn off your smartphone. To access the system recovery menu, you need to turn off your device. Press and hold the power button until the corresponding menu appears. Switch off your phone by selecting the appropriate option. Factory resetting your phone will erase all user data on it, so use this method only as a last resort.
   • If the phone is frozen, you can turn it off by removing the battery from the case.
2. 2 Open the system recovery menu. Press and hold the volume down button, then press and hold the power button. Both buttons must be held down for 30 seconds. When the Android logo appears, the buttons can be released.
3. 3 Perform a factory reset. Use the volume down key to navigate the menus. Select Factory Reset, then press the Power button to continue. The reset process itself will take a few minutes.
   • After a factory reset, all user data will be deleted.
4. 4 Log in and set up your phone. After completing a factory reset, you will need to set up your phone - exactly as if you just bought it. If you have previously backed up your settings, then log in to the Google account previously associated with this phone and you can restore all settings back.
   • You will be able to re-download all applications previously purchased through the Play Store if you are using the same account with which you purchased them.
   • All contacts saved in Google Contacts sync automatically.

Tips

• A factory reset is a last resort, as all your data from your phone will be deleted.
