When working with spray paints, it is not easy to avoid getting paint on your skin. In this case, you can use a chemical solvent, but using it can cause severe irritation and damage to the skin. Instead of using such funds, it is better to use what every housewife has at hand. These are safe, but equally effective remedies. Use vegetable oil to remove paint. Apply it to your skin and then wash off. You can also make homemade paint remover using simple ingredients.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Using vegetable oil

  1. 1 Apply olive oil or other vegetable oil to your skin and rub it over. Keeping your hands over the sink, pour olive oil or other vegetable oil into your palms. Rub your hands together thoroughly. Pay special attention to the dyed areas of the skin. Turn on the water with your elbow and continue rubbing your hands under running water. If you can't wash off the paint, dab some soap in the palm of your hand and continue rubbing your skin.
    • If paint stains are not only on the skin of your hands, it is best to remove them in the shower to avoid contaminating your work surfaces.
  2. 2 Use essential oil instead of vegetable oil. To remove paint from skin, use an essential oil blend commonly used to remove odors. Apply a few drops of the oil mixture directly to the contaminated skin. Rub the oil into your skin and you will notice that the stain gets smaller. Continue rubbing until the stain is completely gone.
    • Be careful when handling essential oils - do not touch your eyes, as this can cause burning and irritation.
  3. 3 Spray cooking spray all over the contaminated skin. Take a cooking spray and spray it all over your skin. Rub the stained skin area. Wash your hands to remove any remaining paint and oil.
  4. 4 Use dishwashing detergent. After using vegetable oil, apply a dishwashing detergent to your hands that effectively removes grease. Lather and rub the product on the skin to remove any remaining paint.
  5. 5 Rinse off any lather from your skin. When the skin is lather, turn on the water and wash your hands thoroughly to remove the lather. Pat your hands dry with a towel.
    • If the paint is not only on your hands, perform the entire procedure in the shower.
  6. 6 Repeat the process if the paint still hasn't washed off. Assess the condition of your skin after washing it with water. If there is still paint residue on the skin, reapply the oil and then wash the skin again using dishwashing detergent.

Method 2 of 2: Prepare the paint remover

  1. 1 Combine coconut oil, baking soda, and lemon essential oil. Measure out ½ measuring cup (80 grams) of baking soda and ½ measuring cup (120 ml) of coconut oil and place them in a bowl. Add 6 drops of lemon essential oil. Stir the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon to create a paste-like, homogeneous mixture.
  2. 2 Apply the mixture to your skin and rub it over the soiled areas under running water. Turn on the water in your sink or shower and dab some of the mixture on your skin. Place your hands under water and rub the soiled skin.
    • If paint gets on your nails, try removing it with a new toothbrush.
  3. 3 Rinse off the mixture. Rinse off the mixture with water and then wash your hands with hand or body soap. After that, pat your hands dry. Your skin will be soft and clean.
