Have you ever had such a terrible day that you just couldn't forget it? Well, it happens to everyone, and no matter how bad a day may seem, it won't last forever. You just have to keep expecting something better. The first step to overcoming a bad day is realizing that just because today was a bad day, it doesn't mean that tomorrow will be the same.

Steps

  1. 1 Go to bed if you can. There are days when things don't go the way you want them to, but remember that not every day is. Go to sleep to bring yourself closer to a new day that will be much better!
  2. 2 Do something nice or relaxing. Try a bubble bath or self-help to make you feel better. You have no control over how lucky you are on certain days, but you can do whatever makes you feel better! Fishing is considered by many to be a calm and enjoyable way to relieve stress.
  3. 3 Do what makes you smile. For example, you might do yoga, watch a movie, talk to someone, go to your favorite restaurant, cook your favorite dessert or snack, or talk to a good friend.
  4. 4 Make a list of tasks. Plan what you want to do. Make each item what you love to do.
  5. 5 Talk to someone about it. Call a friend or family member and ask for advice or empathy. If you pour out your soul and release all your anger and all your stress, you will feel so much better, and it will help turn your day in a different direction!
  6. 6 Try to fix the situation. If the stress is caused by a problem that may bother you for more than one subsequent day, then try to find a solution!
  7. 7 Take a break from this. Try to do anything that distracts you from your bad feelings about your day.
  8. 8 Remember, positive attracts positive. Deliberately be kind to people, then they, too, will be kind to you in return, and this in itself will create happiness.

Tips

  • Everyone has bad days.
  • Think about something pleasant! Think about the good times you had and all the good things in your life!
  • A bad mood can sometimes lead to a bad day. Be sure to start your morning right, and you should never endure terrible physical pain.
  • Think about how much better the next day could be. You may not get a bad grade, or get yourself into any trouble.
  • Eat ice cream.
  • If you need to cry, feel free to do so! Find some secluded spot just to cry out your emotions.
  • Tears and sleep help. Peace and solitude help too.
  • Listen to funny music or your favorite song. Stay away from sad movies, songs and books!
  • If you have had one bad day, then this is not the end of the world.
  • You can spend time with friends, family or pets.
  • Go visit a friend and have fun! It will leave you in a much better mood.
  • Try going for a run.

Warnings

  • Don't use your bad day as an excuse to yell at others or be rude to others. This is probably not their fault at all.
  • Don't overdo it if you're having a bad day. You don't have to spend a lot of money just because you are in a bad mood. Play your favorite movie and make yourself happy without spending a dime.
  • Having a bad day doesn't mean neglecting what needs to be done the next day. For example, you had this stupid exam. There is no point in contemplating your failure, turn all your frustration into a firm determination to get an A on your next exam.
  • If you are upset about a personal issue, be sure to call a loved one you can trust!
  • Don't go to bed too early, you may be missing out on what you should have done in the evening!
  • Perhaps the cause of your problems is Murphy's Law. If you think that whatever you are doing is going badly, just use the second tip. Try doing something pleasant or relaxing.
