Conventional methods for deodorizing the air and cleaning the interior are not always enough. Odors from animals and cigarettes are difficult to remove, as their chemical components penetrate deep into the seat upholstery. Cleaning the interior with ozone will allow ozone (O3) particles to penetrate every crack in your interior and eliminate odor-producing particles that cannot be washed out.

Steps

1. 1 Rent an ozone generator. You can search for similar generators on the Internet or in stores that rent equipment.
2. 2 Wash the interior thoroughly and remove all trash and personal belongings. Pull out all from the salon. Anything that becomes in the car will be exposed to ozone.
3. 3 Vacuum the machine and dry all surfaces.
4. 4 Connect the flexible hose to the ozone generator. Some generators already have a hose, but every vacuum cleaner definitely has a suitable hose. If the hose from the vacuum cleaner does not fit, you can attach it with tape.
5. 5 Close all windows and doors in the car, leave only one window ajar enough to fit the hose from the generator. The generator must be outside so that it can draw in fresh air.
6. 6 Use cardboard and adhesive tape to tightly seal the window where the hose is inserted. The key is to keep the ozone from escaping from the vehicle interior.
7. 7 Run the ozone generator for 30 minutes to 2 hours. No one should be in the salon during this procedure. Make sure there are no animals in the cabin.
8. 8 Ventilate the cabin to allow the ozone to dissipate. A light ozone smell is normal and will disappear after 3-4 days. If necessary, repeat the ozone treatment after airing.

Tips

• Since ozone is heavier than oxygen and nitrogen, it is a good idea to run the hose as high as possible into the passenger compartment, then the gas will "fall" down from the ceiling. Larger generators (12000mg / h) will be too big to be transported by car, but they produce ozone very efficiently.
• Choosing the right generator will make the machining process easier. It is difficult to give exact numbers, but the 3500mg / h generator is perhaps the smallest one that is suitable for handling a medium-sized vehicle. Larger cars require a more powerful ozone generator. Models with a capacity of 12,000 mg / h are safe and effective. It is also important that the generator is equipped with a hose.
• Do not confuse ozone cleaning with low-power generators powered by a cigarette lighter. These small generators are safe to use when you are in the salon. But it is NOT safe in the cabin during ozone cleaning. The amount of ozone during cleaning much higher than the norm set by the ministry of health. Ozone cleaning removes odors much more efficiently.
• Ozone generators need oxygen to produce ozone. This means that they will be less effective if they are inside the car. Using a hose to deliver ozone to the cabin is much more efficient.

Warnings

• If you treat the passenger compartment for too long, ozone can damage the car parts, in particular the rubber seals. The exact numbers are unknown, but 3500-6000 mg / h generators are safe to use for up to about 2 hours. More powerful generators can do the same job in less time. Several procedures for interior ozonation and ventilation can be more effective than one long-term one.
• No person or animal should be in the cabin during the ozone treatment. It is very dangerous. High ozone levels can cause severe respiratory tract damage. Read the instructions provided with the ozone generator.
• The spare tire and all personal belongings must be removed from the passenger compartment. Ozone is a powerful oxidizing agent that can damage or discolor anything left in the car.
