In this article, we are going to show you how to draw a frame for a Japanese Manga comic. It's not difficult at all.

Steps

  1. 1 Determine what your character will do step by step. In the first step, mark the boundaries of 4-6 fields on a piece of paper and write down the actions in each comment box.
  2. 2 Determine the angle for each frame. It can be a close-up or rear view. The frame can be tilted.
  3. 3 Redraw the frames onto another sheet of paper, aligning them together. If you are American or European, draw from left to right, if Japanese, from right to left. If you want to stick to the traditional format, draw from right to left. The edges of the frame can blur, and you can come up with other interesting effects.
    • There should be no spaces between the frames, as in the Marvel comics. Usually comics are separated by thin black lines. Sometimes some of the edges of the frame are not visible at all.
  4. 4 Repeat the process several times until you have filled the entire page with comic frames. Circle the frames with a bold felt-tip pen or a black pen.

Tips

  • The Ka-blam website has frame templates that you can download. It also hosts comics created by different users.
  • Use a pencil and ruler to mark the margins of the page - from 11x17 cm to 16x22. You can designate the fields as you like.

Warnings

  • Do not press too hard on the pencil, or it will be difficult for you to erase the lines.
