Method 2 of 4: Draw a cat, side view
- 1 Draw the outline of the body. Draw a circle for the head. For the torso, draw a rectangle with a curved line that sits near the circle (head). Add a large oval for the thigh line.
- 2 Draw the main features of the face. Draw the lines of the nose, ears and mouth.
- 3 Add more details. Draw the side of the eye. Add the nose as well.
- 4 Draw the outline of the thighs and legs. Also draw the tail.
- 5 Draw the main features of the cat. Add short strokes to make the cat look fluffy.
- 6 Erase unnecessary construction lines and add more details.
- 7 Color the cat.
- Use colored pencils, crayons, markers, or watercolors.
Method 3 of 4: Draw a cat lying down
- 1 Draw a circle and an oval. These figures will later be the head and body of the cat.
- 2 Draw thin lines on the "future" face of the cat, which will further help to draw the eyes, mouth, nose and ears.
- 3 Draw circles and ovals. These shapes are needed to draw three legs.
- 4 Add basic lines for the face.
- 5 Draw the basic details of the cat's face. Add short strokes to make the cat look fluffy.
- 6 Erase unnecessary construction lines and add more details. For example, you can add finishing touches to make your cat look fluffier.
- 7 Color the cat.
Method 4 of 4: Draw a realistic cat
- 1 Draw the outline of the body. Draw a circle for the head and draw two crossing lines in the center of it. Use a much larger body circle; add an arc attached to it from the side.
- 2 Draw the outline of the muzzle. Make the cheeks look plump and the ears pointed on either side of the head.
- 3 Add two small ovals at the bottom of the head, draw an arc connecting these two ovals. These will be your guidelines for drawing the nose and mouth. Add a couple more small ovals at the bottom of the torso outline and draw a rectangular shape on the side.
- 4 Draw the details of the muzzle. The cat's eyes should be almond-shaped, add the nose and muzzle outline in short strokes to make the cat appear fluffy.
- 5 Draw the cat's whiskers and eyebrows using longer strokes.
- 6 Draw the paws, tail and claws. Remember to use short strokes to keep it looking fluffy.
- 7 Draw short strokes for the rest of the body.
- 8 Erase unnecessary construction lines and color the drawing.
